Wind Noise

I'm glad it's gone. In GT4 and GT5p it was so loud that you couldn't use a buttkicker. The wind noise just made it vibrate like crazy. I put mine away and haven't gotten it back out since GT5p came out. Now that I seen this thread I need to break it back out, and see if it's usable in GT5.

Yes it's a pity... and if you've ever driven 250+ km/h on the German Autobahn you'll know that the windnoise and tyre rumble can get quite exciting.

Losing the wind noise and tyre rumble (and the tunnel reverb effect!) all contribute to the dull, soulless sterility of GT5 compared to older versions. 👎

+1 👍

I think that everyday on my way to work driving down the autobahn.

And it also helped with drafting in GT4. If you weren't hearing wind noise behind a car, then you knew you were drafting right.

Incredible as it seems after 6 years of work PD somehow managed to discard many of the best and most liked features in GT1-4.

Maybe the end of the world is near and this is a sign 💡

How can you hear the wind with your windows rolled up during a race....which BTW is illegal in most sanctioning bodies....

At high speeds on cars with a stock/quite exhaust, wind and tire noise is pretty much the only thing you hear at high speeds even with windows rolled up. Perhaps on GT4 the effect was exaggerated (by the way, it should be proportional to air resistance, not speed alone), but on GT5 it's so quiet that it makes the driving experience additionally dull and sterile as if it wasn't already without this issue.
