Windows has stopped recognising .exe's

This is kinda weird and it's the second time this has happened to me, but windows now has stopped running exe's. All of my shortcuts have gone blank and i've only just managed to get FF & AVG going to try and prevent having to reformat.

I can't even open paint to give a screenshot, but i've noticed ad-aware has logged a load of events that don't normally happen, i've attached the log file.

Thanks for any help, right now i'm off to make some backups

A worm has modified your registry so that every icon click action has been remapped to do something useless or run the worm.

If you have a registry rollback point, using this in conjunction with a virus scan should at least allow you to use your icons. It will probably be quite difficult to rid yourself of this, though.
