when i was just going through my files earlier, i found my project i had made with windows movie maker. the thing was, that whenever i tried to open windows movie maker, this would happen:

is there a way i can fix this, or is this also happening to other people?

find out what is makeing it do that

is the file too big?

when i try to load a 1GB.VOB file which i renamed XXXX.AVI

it closes down

I don't have a solution, but all I have to say is, is that Windows Movie Maker is the most buggy piece of software I have ever come across. That message pops up every few minutes no matter what I do. I really do think that the autosave feature in the program was put there on purpose because MS know how buggy it is.

I would suggest using another program altogether, but I really don't know any other free ones.

I haven't got that problem at all and I've been using it for a very long time.

Try to uninstall it, that should remove everything from your pc and then re-install Movie Maker, let me know if this helps.

I know about some other free software like this but give me some time, my cousin does directing so he knows about these things 👍

EDIT:

Found some stuff, try this link: http://desktopvideo.about.com/od/softwarereviews/tp/bestfreesw_ro.htm

If you're willing to spend soem money, I really recommend Pinnacle Studio, it's after Magix Video Deluxe the best seller in video software 👍

actually, i don't think i can uninstall it because it came with my computer, i can't find it in the add/remove programs list

Hmmm, go to My Computer -> Local disc C -> Program Files and look for the Movie Maker map 👍
