Ok so here is a bit of an odd question, right now I have Bosch Icon wipers and they work great as long as I'm not on the expressway. But soon as I hit and indicated 73mph they start to lift off the glass and become pretty much worthless. This was never really a problem before since I didn't commute via the expressway, now I do though and I need a wiper that can stick to the glass better.

So I'm open to suggestions, I like my Icon's quite a bit and I know there are other styles of blades like that out there. I am positive it is not the Icon's fault either but the odd shape of my car.

Any thoughts?

Judging by the rake of your windshield being somewhat close to mine, you're probably going to want an open wiper.

What I'm saying is, because our windshields are so vertical in angle, they have a lot of air hit them head on and then go over the car/truck. Your icons look like so:

I think the design, when coupled with the rake of the shield, creates too much lift on the wipers. I have just your basic wipers that air can pass through in more places:

And I have minimal issues at 75 in a downpour. They skip 1 time at 60, twice at 65, and 2-3 times at 75. And when I say skip, I mean in the course of a full wiper swipe, both directions. So if I hit the wipers to do one swipe then return to being off, I'll get 2-3 skips throughout the whole cycle at 75.

Just my opinion

If you can find open Bosch wipers - Micro Edge Excel comes to mind - you should get the same great performance that you get with the ICONS, without the speed headaches.

I've got ICONS on the Nova and the 200SX. Both work great.

Actually the OEM MINI blades had spoilers on them except the blades were worthless and they were like $75 for replacement ones because BMW made them our of gold, or myrrh, or the blood of 10,000 virgins or something.

The reason I switched from open blades to the closed blades was that the open blades made a horrid whistle noise at about 78mph which was annoying when it was dry out.

I just think BMW sucks at designing a windscreen and wipes that work with them.

Bosch Excel+ and the MicroEdge blades are what you need Joey.

I'd strongly recommend spending the $ and getting the MicroEdge as they are seriously good and rarely raise.

Well, I suppose you could see if you could rig up your own spoilers. Might be a bit redneckish, but it could work. Could also see if you could fit OEM spoilers to a bosch setup.

Cost isn't an issue when it comes to a safety feature, I'll never cheap out when it comes to things like wipers, tires, lights, and other safety things on a car. I might give the MicroEdges a try.

And I would try to make a spoiler but that seems like to much work and not enough effort from me.

That's a very strange phenomenon Joey. The ICONS already have a spoiler designed into them so I'd figure it would solve the problem but your steep windshield might allow air to pool behind the spoiler pushing it away from the glass.

Michelin blades aren't quite as good as the Bosches and they have a slightly different shaped spoiler. Maybe replace one and see if it does it?
