Since they increased the payout in this race I gave it another try...(and could only win with overpowered cars)
As we all know, there is that Alfa Giulia GT in this race that is almost impossible to beat, so here is my question:

Are there any road cars(all tune ups and engine swaps allowed)with 600PP(or less) and on sport or comfort tyres(no racing tyres!) who can beat that Gallo-Alfa ?

Please share your tunes, if you have any cars that can do it!

I’ll see if I can have a go at this tonight or tomorrow night, sound like fun. Thanks for posting.

Come pretty close with the Peugeot RCZ GR3 Road Car(5 second behind)...with some fiddling around with the settings and some more practise it might be possible...but the game crashed right after it, so that's it for me today ;)

Easy win in a stock DB11 on hard, even lost 5 seconds after the AI completely ran me off the road on the first lap. Usually with races with the Giulia it depends where he starts and how fast he gets into lead, for me he was in the lead about half way into the first lap, weather also probably plays a part because he's pretty slow once the track is above the first bar. Should mean the recommended car is probably possible to win with too.

As I suspected, the Bulgari VGT makes easy work of this race, even on Sports tires.

If you guys haven't given that thing a go yet, do so now. ;) It's a fun little trackday car.

Stock Mercedes McLaren SLR on SS. Not strictly within the criteria because that combo is at like 620pp. Completely stock, on RH, it's at 597pp but I haven't tried to win this race at that level.

All on hard difficulty setting with DS controller.

Ran this a few more times out of curiosity, the recommended car is easy to win with, was about 4-5 seconds a lap quicker than the DB11 I had tried previously. I also tried a stock Giulia and that easily won too, got a lot more rain in that race with my second lap being around 20 seconds slower. Biggest advice is reload the race until Gallo is as low down as possible, if he starts on pole he can be 10+ seconds up the road versus if he's 3rd. I found if you're around 4 seconds ahead going onto the Döttinger Höhe he won't be able to pass you before the bridge in a lot of cars so you're safe, even if he does pass he'll be super slow after that so it's easy to pass again. I should also point out, if I say stock it's whatever tyres the car comes with, I think SS on lower PP cars will make it pretty easy to win.

So basically cheat then? 🤣

A "few more tweaks" to make up 58s?! Boy, you need bigger pp. How do you intend to make up that much time with that car? It seems the lower the pp that you'll go, the more of a sleeper you'll need.

Possibly, and probably, but I’m stubborn haha. I put an LSD, Sport Suspension, Racing Air Filter, Racing Exhaust, and a Header for 255hp. I’ll try doing all the weight reductions, and maybe the internal engine mods, see if I can get it up to about 300hp for the next run. I think this car can do it for some reason lol.

Edit: This was the setup from this first attempt.

I always like the idea of the older gen cars taking it to the newer builds. I might go for the M3 Evo to start! Will report back when I give it a run!

Nice choice! I was eying that one before I picked the 190. Good luck!

Edit:2nd run at 305hp and less weight went way better. Got as close at 13s to the leader, before I got to the back straight and he opened it back up to 16s at the line. The Evo can definitely win this race, hopefully at less than 600pp lol.

@Pigems heres the build that won it for me. I was going for under 550pp to start. This is on normal difficulty mind you. Also, I was walloped by Gallo on the back straight which probably allowed me to sneak past on the final corner. Good fun 👍🏻

I haven't tried this since winning it when it was a 25k payout and I think at the time I used the Cayman GT4. That thing is an absolute weapon!

Now that it's payout has been upped, I might well have to have a few more bashes at this. There are a number of cars I'm thinking will be able to take it to Gallo in that hyper-fast Giulia:

Cayman GT4 (already proven winner)
458-swapped Alfa 4C
Aston Martin DP-100 VGT (detuned to 600PP)
Nissan GT-R Nismo R32 (lightly tuned to near 600PP)

Amongst many others...

Maybe we can start a list of cars under 550pp that are potential winners for both Normal and Hard difficulties.

Does anyone know Gallo's race times between the two difficulties so we can compare?

Fastest I've had was this, he started in 3rd and was in the lead before Aremberg. Car was totally stock 573pp:

Rain and his start position make it hard to compare cars exactly unless you keep restarting.

Which difficulty were you on?

Hard, same goes for these too:

The Audi was pretty easy, full dry race but I'd assume it would be even quicker in the wet, stock pp. The Porsche was built to be like a RUF RCT on SH and has the 959 engine, required a decent amount of weaving on the Döttinger Höhe so I wouldn't count it as a legit win despite getting the CRB. Having tested a few other cars I think it's possible with the M2 Competition, another option could be the '88 Countach if you swap to SH, both are around 540pp.

It's a tough one for sure, especially for us keyboard warriors. Tried the Porsche gt3 09. stock bar 2 weight reductions. Was 30 odd seconds behind gallo.
Going to give my ferrari gto a go. That's my favourite 600pp car for short races.
