Wireless interference

I use a wireless card in my PC and it seems to kick me off the PSN network randomly... sometimes it works then i get DNS error and fail to sign in to PSN until i reboot and run the test connection then it usually connects again for a while. :guilty:

I've tried both DHCP where it detects everything automatically and also by Static IP with my DNS servers.

I use a static IP on the PC.. and used a different one on the PS.

Doesn't seem to matter.. because it still happens unless i disable the wireless card temporarily on my PC which is a bit annoying.

Any idea's welcome!

I doubt that the IP configuration is actually a part of the problem. That would only be possible if one of them had a static IP and the other had DHCP. In that case the static one could get kicked offline and the DHCP enabled one would have the opportunity to use that IP. Don't consider that though because with DHCP it keeps its IP address for the duration of its connection.

Maybe your router is flaky?

My PS3 has caused interference with my Logitech G7 wireless mouse. It uses 2.4Ghz wireless which is apparently close to what both Wifi and Bluetooth use.

I had a similar problem to this AGES ago. Basically I would get booted off every 5 minutes for no reason.

I assigned my PS3 a static IP address, and put the IP address into a DMZ, still no luck! It ended up being the bit torrent programs I had running was conflicting (must have been trying to access the same ports as the PS3).

As soon as I turned them off the wireless on my PS3 has worked perfectly. Not had a single problem since. I still left it with a static IP and in a DMZ though.

Make sure there are no programs (such as bit torrent) running on your PC which is using the same ports as the PS3 and might be causing a conflict.

Try keeping your router and PS3 as far away from other electronics as possible, whether they use the internet or not. Moving the system a little bit away from your TV helps boost the signal.

If you give up, you can always run an ethernet line under your house. Not that hard.

Hmm, that might explain some issues I've been having lately. Great mouse btw. ;)

It actually hasn't happened in a really long time...When it did the mouse would skip when moving it like it wasn't updating its movement enough.

I do love the mouse. I don't understand why some people (read: the ones who swear by Razor mice) dismiss all wireless mice for gaming. The G7 doesn't even go to a sleep mode.

I once had problem when I got kick of from PC or PS3... I just re did the PS3 online settings, after that everything works, and till this day NO disconnects! It's a quick thing you can do to see if it works for you.
