My wisdom teeth are perfectly fine where they are... No trouble with them :)

All my teeth probably have to come out but i'd have to win Lotto to do so. :(
$300 for a filling (or something). I could get a PS2 with that money!!!

Yeah, I had to have cotton swabs in there for a while, but, the worst part is just not being able to do anything really tasking, in fear of blowing the clots and getting dry sockets, which would be excrutiatingly painful.

It's not bad at all. They kept me so drugged up the entire time that I didn't even feel anything. I guess an IV of valium will do that for you. I didn't even need any of the percocets that they gave me. I sold them off and made about 300 dollars.

I actually enjoyed having my wisdom teeth taken out. The surgeon injected me with some anesthetic and I was out in about 30 seconds after being injected. Once I came to I remember quite literally being dragged to the car, and for the rest of the day I slept on the couch, watched TV, and took penicilin and painkillers. I didn't experience much pain due to the painkillers, yet the only part that was a drawback was that my mouth was useless for around a day or two. I could barely eat scrambeled eggs the day I got my teeth pulled!

i was supposed to have mine out years ago, but damn the price, about 650 per tooth( circa 1998 prolly higher now). at least you wont have to worry about future problems with them.

I was supposed to have one of my teeth pulled on Wednesday, but nine shots later, I was still experiencing truly excruciating pain -- "pressure", my ass! The doc seemed to think that the amount of pain was abnormal, so he decided to call it quits with the tooth only halfway out.

Later today, I shall meet my doom yet again... I'm having a buddy take me this time, so maybe they can knock me out or something. Until then, I'm pretty nervous... :nervous:

What!!!!!!

All these drugs just to pull a wisdom tooth??

God , that is crazy. 2 of mine has been pulled.

The procedure?

local anesthetic, a little tug from the dentist to make sure there isn't pain(anesthetic) if there is, like 1 of my case, more anesthetic, then voila! Teeth is out.

Cotton swabs for a few hours and I'm done.

Next morning business as usual using the other side of my teeth.

Well, I've gotta know then -- on a scale from 1 to 10, how much pain should I be willing to take before I tell the dentist that something is wrong with either the procedure or the anesthetic? From everything I've heard, this should NOT be a painful procedure... and yet, while I was in the chair, it was all I could do not to keep from yelling since I didn't want to scare the young children in the office.

all of these stories are making me nervous! :nervous: i have to gat all three of mine out soon, but I keep puting it off...better do it soon before the situation gets worse....

You still haven't taken them out yet? I remember your thread from a few months back.

It's not so bad. It hurts (duh), but you'll be glad once you've healed. For one, you won't get food stuck back there anymore! 👍

I was completely unconscious for the procedure, it's just afterwards that's a pain in the arse. Really, I wouldn't be too worried about the procedure, but jello, pudding, and other soft foods will be on the menu for a week or so.

I was supposed to go in to get one pulled this summer. When I got there the guy said we might as well get all of them done! They put me out pretty quickly. I couldn't focus or keep my eyes uncrossed for about an hour afterwards. After that I really didn't feel any pain. I was eating poptarts by that evening. Not a bad experience at all.
