After learning that F1 cars were available in GT3, I eagerly raced the endurnace races in hopes of winning one. Sure enough, race after race, hour after hour, I never won an F1 car. I had to win all 10 races, and finally received one.

Has this evil curse infected anyone else? If so, were you ready to eat a bullet like I was?

I apologize in advance if this was a topic that could have been searched. I tried, but no dice.

i won a F1 on the first endurance race.....lol. i dont think it's an evil curse or anything, just luck.....but i heard that you can pick which car you want out of the 4 shadow cars that spin around like on display thingy....if you can recognize which one is the F1, when the little circle thingy is under it, i think you just press X...im not sure....just wait until someone seconds my post

I think that "pick your car" thing was debunked. Thankfully, GT4 will not have the random car giver feature, so we won't have to put up with it anymore. Yomama, you can search for "rubber band trick" to win the super speedway endurance without even being infront of your TV. It basically involves tying a rubber band around your controller to constantly push the gas. If you have a fully modded suzuki escudo you will win the enduro easily this way. You can win the F090/S this way - it is a decent F1 car but the fastest F1 car is the f094/s (it's the fastest on anything but the test course.

You can win the F094/S at the Polyphony Digital Cup in Professional mode. be sure to be ahead by more than 10 points at the start of the last race, save your game before entering it, then exit out of the race immediately. If the game doesn't award you the F094/s, load your game and exit out again. You will eventually get it!

Good Luck

Is it the NTSC game or the PAL game where there is only 1 F1 car awarded?

PAL has only 2 - polyphony 001 and polyphony 002 ... they are not so different.

And yes, it seems ot work if you press X when a car is highlighted that you will get that one. Not allwayz, but seems to work for me in ~90% cases. I think, that you have to press it very soon. if you press it just before the car picks itself it won't work. But that's just my opininon.

People of intelligence have spent literally hours of scientific research debunking this myth. It just doesn't happen. You may well get lucky a lot, and it may make you feel better, but it's not affecting anything.

yomama, welcome to GTPlanet. I hope you enjoy your stay with us. But with all due respect, if you raced the Enduros for the sole purpose of winning an F1 car, you're missing the point of the game.

Although I did race the endurance races specifically to get the F1 cars, I did not 'miss the point' along the way. Good racing was had by all.

Glad to hear it. It seemed from your original post that you were looking at them as nothing but a means to get that F1 car.
👍

The Vitz on test track was nothing more than a means to 100% completion for me...I don't see how it could be anything else!

You know what sucks, racing the Pro Vitz race (the whole series) 5 times in a row, AIMING for the Altezza LM, only to be left with a Green Pearl Mica Supra RZ , and a Castrol Supra for good measure..

I wanted that Altezza!!!!!!!!

D'oh! Do a search on this board for "save and reload trick". The knowledge you gain will prevent that from happening again...

Ahh, forgot all about that.. woulda helped a hell of a lot...

The 4th race, however, is dreaded.. SSR11. I cannot for the life of me get 1st, 4th yes, but not first..and even then I would have to repeat the 5th race anyhow, to get those points.

ahh, its all good now tho. Was in the middle of it when i posted before, and now i've gotten the goodies.. altezza woo!

An easier race series to win the Altezza LM from is the Amateur Altezza Championship.

I think a polyphony001 was the 9th car I won in GT3. The first 4 were gold license reward cars. The next 4 were a Gillet, R390 road car, TVR Speed 12, Lister Storm V12. I can't remember what competition I got the F1 car from though.

This has completely destroyed my win ratio.

How has the trick destroyed your win ratio?

Apologises for the again remark in the other thread, I thought you had hyjacked threads before.

Apologises for having to apologise in this thread for a remark made in another thread, too late to post in that thread now.

Would this count as hyjacking a thread? If so apologises...

Too many apologises, someone just shoot me now...

I won't shoot you because I have no idea what you are talking about....but to answer your win ratio question:

The save and reload trick involves you quitting the last race of a series with enough points to win the series - you loose the last race, but if you don't get the car you want as a prize car, you just reload your saved game, enter the last race, exit....repeat until you get the car you want. Since you loose the last race, your win ratio takes a hit.

Amateur Altezza series is faster/easier way to get it, in my opinion.

My version involves having won all of the races to that point, then racing the final race - and winning it - and reloading and repeating if I didn't get the right car. So the win ratio remains intact... :D

That must have been a bit frustrating at times ;).

I never really bothered, to be honest.

The two memory car trick was a good wheeze though - save the completed series to a second card, buy the car off it, then reload the mid-series game from card 1. You could collect all four cars that way.

But GT3gEdit + Xport saw an end to that... :D

I don't have a sharkport or else I would be in the online racing. For me, repeating the last race is fine in most series...but the Formula gt, polyphony cup...etc was like redoing an enduro to get the car you want. First time through I just wanted to hurry up and beat the game. I have recently started a second game, and I'm going for the close races to keep it interesting. I have all golds on the licenses and the roadster enduro complete right now (I started 2 days ago).

I don't know if this has been answered already, but I'll answer it.

The "save and reload" trick requires you to have enough points so that you can skip the last race of the series and still win the series. It's used so you can keep reloading the game until you get the car you want.

Now it's destroyed my win ratio because you don't win the last race of the series - you don't race it at all.

Iv'e done 6 enduros and have 2 F1 cars.

I've done 47, and have 14 F1 cars... :D

I've done as many enduros BACKWARD as I have FORWARD and still won. :D

The Super Speedway enduro backward is particularly funny, because you get the highest speed and bounce way back off the other cars.

I have 2 001 cars, ones a black/white/yellow one, and the others a red/white one, both same speed tho :) (Playing PAL version of the game btw)

Umm isn't it that the "save and reload" trick involes you saving right before the final race, then doing the race and if you do not get the car you originally wanted.. You then reset then load it up again. :) Doing it like this does NOT effect your win ratio in any way because you are not forfitting the last race you are just doing it over and over. At which point you have the car you want and it is "technically" you only driving in the series once with no penalty 👍
