Couldn't get it to load last night or this morning:grumpy: Soon as i unplugged Ethernet it loaded up! Anybody else?

Mine's loaded up just fine four times now and I am geographically similar. Try clearing your network cache.

I get it all the time if the missus is watching streaming TV. Even just trying to exit GT Auto it'll hang until I disconnect from the PSN, then it immediately pops back. The game is far too reliant on a connection to PD, especially when you're not doing anything in it that actually requires the connection.

GT5 is very dependent on the network connection. If your streaming or downloaded torrents, GT5 will be slow forever. Make sure to keep the network traffic to a minimum when playing GT5. That info should almost be stickied.

Torrents OFF, if you plan on using Lobby/Community services , but it does not affect Seasonals.

Seasonals require a connection. It may not effect the race, but will when loading and exiting.

I'm having problems.
Even with nothing in the house connected to the wireless besides the PS3, it is still slow.
I have high speed internet connection, and I have cleared the cache multiple times.
Don't understand why it happens, it just does.

Wifi is your bottleneck. Go hardwired for best results.

This.

Plus 'high speed' connections can be overrated. I do not have all the information at hand but if your ISP is doing something weird with the type of data GT5 uses you will have problems. ISPs use traffic shaping to prioritise certain types of data over others, usually giving businesses priority over general browsing. It could be that they are throttling traffic on the port gt5 uses to make web browsing faster.

Tl;dr - could be an issue with your ISP.

This as well.

Not a computer or internet expert but I think the problem with WiFi is that Sony has poor error correction with both their servers and the PS3 operating system. WiFi is much more susceptible to lost data packets and corrupted data packets and without good error detection and correction on both ends you'll get issues. I use WiFi with a mobile Hotspot that I know has issues. Many times I'll get a partial login on PSN because of network loss. PSN will show me logged in but only part of my friends list will actually appear and many network functions fail to work correctly forcing me to log out and log back in. Proper error correction by Sony's servers and/or my PS3 would detect the issues and resend the query/lost data until full connection was achieved or else time out the process. I know this is an issue with PSN and not other network servers as I can use the browser on the PS3 (slow and cumbersome at times but almost always works.) Also can use Netflix (once connected to Netflix you don't have to be logged into PSN, that's Sony causing unneeded hassles with accessing a third party server. In fact you don't have to log in at all just attempt to log in and then the system will complete connecting to Netflix.) and it has no problem with the data loss as it checks and resends needed data.

It's pretty normal for me to not be able to load at all when connected. Or it takes literally 10 minutes. I don't bother with online much because of it. Even navigating the menus on the home page can take five times longer as normal.
(I am on satellite internet... it's that or dial-up.)

Not to be mean, but satellite internet is horrid. Thats almost like 56k compared to cable. That is huge for broadband machines. I am sorry if you can not get cable internet in your area. The more solid a connection to the net,, everything will get better.
