It came in the mail today, its a certificate with the test scores on the back. Now I'm going to turn in the application for the local motorcycle dealer and set up an interview to get a job as a mechanics helper.

Congrats! from me 2 mate.... hope ya get the job you want as well...

GED, eh? Any particular reason you decided to go for this?

Not trying to offend, but there must be some reason... I may have to take this test myself, because i screwed up sophomore and junior year of HS. :\

Well I was in 9th grade twice, the first time I failed was because I was being a lazy @ss and the second wasent my fault really. Last year 3 people in my family died, first it was my uncle that lived 15 miles from me, he spent his last 10 or so days at the outerbanks (the beach) in a cottage, he got to see the super bowl game on a big screen tv, and said it was the best football game he's ever seen, then five days later he died at the cottage. He had cancer in his liver. The second person was my mom, she died on April 14, that was the toughest thing I ever endured cause her death was real slow. She had conjestive (spelling?) heart failer. Their was nothing that any docters could do and she was in no condition to have a heart transplant done. So it was me, dad, and my aunt (the wife of my first uncle who died) who whatched her die. I had to whatch her last 10 min of life, 15 seconds between every breath and twice as long before her last breath. This was all at my house in her bedroom.

And then on May 2 my other uncle (my dad's brother) died of a heart attack, he lived Griffin Georgia. And at the same time I had to do a project for English 1 and I just didn't get a chance to finish it, my grade werent really all that great from the begining. So I new I was going to fail again and I didn't show to school for the last two days which were the exam days

Theirs more to tell but not right now its almost 3am and I g2g to bed.

Your a late night person too ehh. Good to see you did well in your exams. Having one death in the family is hard, but three? I think I would have missed out alot of time too. Hope you get the job.

Congratulations, Josh, you're headed in the right direction! Best of luck with your future job. :)

I'll second what Jordan says. Excellent work! Education means a lot no matter how you get it, so keep going. If you can get a job as a mechanic's assistant, start looking into vo-tech or community college. You may be able to take part-time classes or flex your work schedule a little. Employers would always rather have employees with more knowledge and showing the drive to improve yourself shows something good about you.

Good luck!

Same from me and the best of luck to ye. As for me, I'm in 7th grade so I have a while to go...

EDIT: Somehow, I manage to stuff like 75% of my quotes i color...

I got a GED. Im making $14 an hour in a $5.15 minimum wage town doing a job i love. I get to sell auto parts to ricers . Me and my roomate are paying double mortgage on our house right now, we both have nice cars, we go out everynight to get some, err, lovely laides to come have a quiet time with us at our home. The reason for me getting mine? Its a long story but i hated school, half the people there, and they decided to erase credits form my record because those courses werent good enough for that place. SO i said either graduate me or give me the GED test. Havent thought twice about it.
