Well, I wasn't sure if this related more towards sports or music, so I decided to stick it here. Basically, I'll be starting my bike training soon, and I need some good music to listen to, preferably something with a nice quick beat. I'm open to any and all suggestions, as I can test listen on iTunes before I buy. Thanks. :)

If you like trance, check out the Trancemaster albums. Those are the best ones in my entire music collection.

You could also check out LTJ Bukem but he's also got a lot of drum n bass jazz.

Disturbed, Velvet Revolver, Yngwie Malmsteen, Rammstein - all fairly high tempo and good

Yeah, I picked up the Velvet Revolver album today; very good. I think I may try LTJ Bukem now.

Thanks for the suggestions, keep 'em coming :)

Omnis

Eww... sorry Omnis but WTH kind of work out music is that?!

Anyway...

I don't have my .mp3s around at the moment but try these out... there ambient electronica but with a up beat sound to it.

System 7 - Manik Shamanik
Bad Company - Brain Scan

Is this music for biking out in the open, or like on a treadmill? I'd really, really recommend that you not listen to music if it's for going in the open – auditory signals are very important in those situations, and it's very useful to, for example, be able to tell a car is close by just by sound (since you want to keep your eyes pointing forward as much as possible). Just a recommendation.

For stationary bikes though, go all out. Of course, I'll recommend They Might Be Giants, like I always do (:D)… excellent music for those kinds of situations, since it's always very quick and upbeat, and you won't have to strain to hear the lyrics.

I am personallly against running with music, but it is good before-hand. I like to listen to something calming and ambient. Radiohead is good, 311 when they aren't rapping. Sometimes I like to throw in something fast right before like metalica.

It is open riding, but I'll be almost exculsively in the country, so I rarely ever see cars on my route. I also use bud earphones that allow other noise to come in while still playing the music at a listenable sound.

It's funny that you mention They Might be Giants, Sage, as I was thinking about adding some of them to the mix.

Sage
They Might Be Giants [...] you won't have to strain to hear the lyrics.

"So the room must listen to me;
Filibuster vigilantly"?

:D

A lot of Queen stuff is great for this. You have to get "Bicycle Race", seeing as your cycling and whatnot.
