Congrats this week again go to UDO and Sukerkin who take the win at Suzuka, Daan gives UDO a top 2 while Callaways debut driver appie17 stops Famine from making it a 1, 2, 3 for the DB9s. A strong finish for the Espirit of Andge08 and a good finish for Team GB newboy Benedict. Meanwhile ejr_1 tails the pack in his Tuscan.

Electric....... did not participate in the race after a crash on the 130r which ruled him and his car out of the race. He will hopefully be back in the driving seat for Trial mountain.

Thanks you all for entering this week and see you at the next round!

*i forgot this bit, just drop me another pm benedict, lost the other one.

Wow real nice time Sukerkin!

9th, meh doesn't surprise me.

Looking forward to the results being posted :sly:

Nice of you to wait for daan...

Bee
Times in by Monday midnight (might as well make it that as im working sunday night)

I can guarantee that, as long as you have those times published, daan won't post his race time as he knows that his own time could be considered "coloured" by knowing their times. I was going to do another race in a few minutes, but there is no way I can now.

Might be an idea to delete them, for now?

I didn't say that don't quote me.

Sorry, i apologise again, as i dont have a job any more i got a bit lost. lol! lame excuse but oh well, see ya t midnight.

Cheers - but I still can't do my race. I now know that I only need "x" seconds to beat the 2nd place guy. So I can either go do the race, take the "x" seconds I need off and hack that guy off completely by taking advantage of knowing his time, or go have a beer.

I'd limit it now so that anyone who has submitted a time already cannot submit another one - even if they haven't seen this thread yet.

I vote number 2. 👍

Ok folks, results are up, congrats to everyone!

Well done to everyone who submitted on this one.

Suzuka takes no prisioners - I lost count of the number of races I started :O!

American cars were the biggest culprits for wrecking runs as they simply seemed unable to handle the track and were forever charging back onto the tarmac from the sand, usually with exquisite timing to slam into you or be blocking the road as you came along.

In the end, I ramped up the AI so as to race against Esprits and Aston Martins ... at least they stayed on the road :D. I think that the recent RBN race I did in an Opel Astra Race Car stood me in very good stead (once I'd re-adapted to running a proper GT car that is and stopped braking too late or trying to brake into turns !).

Wowzors. Craptacular result.

Next week UDO, next week! :trouble:

Dang, was about an hour late finishing! For some reason I thought I had till midnight, but that was another race. Only ran it twice, once clean, would have been at the bottom anyway, just not enough seat time. Won't happen next week. Congrats to ya'll that finished. Trail Mountain is much more to my liking, running it now in the WRS, but a hotlap.

The final part of my time was 387 :sly: Well done all, shame I missed out on points position though. But it is my debut so I can take heart I suppose. How are we supposed to beat sukerkin when he is setting times like that? hehe just kidding you are doing a great job bro.

EDIT: Also congrats to the other new driver appie17 for splitting the UDOs, great work! Hope you can challenge them for the rest of the season.

What happened? I didn't see this thread until this morning.

My first attempt was all over the place with regards to laptimes 2'19.xxx right up to 2'21.xxx. My second and final attempt was much more consistant with a loads of 2'19's with my best lap being a 2'18.724 on the last lap.

Congrats to Sukerkin and Appie for the win and podium respectively. And Famine, you suck! Get using that wheel....

EDIT: Mark - I had my AI set at -7. Past them all by the first corner and didn't get held up by any of them as I lapped them. I brushed past a Nissan Stagea as he turned in on me though. I gave him the bill to get the side of the Aston resprayed.

I fell asleep and accidentally posted the results. Deleted them pretty quick though.

Tiredness and stupidness on my part and wont happen again:)

yes im third

never thought it would happen

but then again suzuka is my favorite circuit did there a lot of laps

If the results hadn't been accidentally posted before I'd scheduled my second race, I'd have run again and probably beaten my time. But once the results were up I could not, in conscience, run the race knowing exactly what mark I had to beat.

Still, you did run that time and that time was worthy of the place it got. Well done.

i know thank you very much

He'll never be able to afford it . You can just picture his face "That's more than my entire CAR's worth!".

Very well run my friend. I only finished two races too. However, I had about four hours of aborted starts (that Turn 1 got a bit hectic sometimes ... CLANG! - CRUNCH! - 'SCUSE ME! - SORRY!! etc etc :D) and running off the track (usually on the inside and generally to the cry of "*&%^ing Degner!") or running slap bang into an AI parked across the road ("Yank BOAT .. you can't leave it THERE!").

Nowhere near as much fun as the Deep Forest race as it's far too tense keeping such delicate control on the throttle and brake and having to have millimeter-perfect steering for those critical higher-speed turn-ins. That said, however, it's still exactly my cup-of-tea to be driving smooth and un-hurried in a British Racing Green Aston Martin on Sports tyres 👍.

Sukerkin how come that you are so fast

damnn hard to beat with rubbish good for nothing calleway i hate it

Mine was 100% clean - no AI touches even...!

Which, for me, on Suzuka (which I hate) for 9 laps with a barge, is pretty good. Even if I do say so meself... :D

Hi Appie

I don't have a ready answer for you on the speed issue except to say that I drive cars like this in the game all the time. It's my preferred way to play. So I'm used to both the grip levels and the style of driving necessary to get the most out of the car.

Plus, I use a DFP and have special driving shoes (okay, I admit it, they're slippers :D) and use very gradual and smooth inputs. It is key that you try to avoid sharp braking or accelerating or jerky steering as that unglues the tyres from the road and so slows you down.

Similarly, the Sports tyres won't readily allow you to brake and turn at the same time, which might be coming as a bit of a shock to people who're used to driving with stickier boots. Altho' Scaff would probably disagree, try using modulated braking and apply less pressure, earlier, than you normally would.

💡 Shoosh, don't tell everyone your secret....

dear sukerkin

thank you for your info

but the problem is i dont have a dfp but i will us yor wise words

thnx

When's the round 4 thread gonna be up?
It's usually posted on friday night.

Daans got it in one:tup: Maybe a bit earlier this week as im not working now.

Btw, how long you been a super mod for? i thought it was regular mod, or am i just blind to tis and you have always been a super one? :D

how do you become a moderator

Hi Appie

It's an 'invitation only' deal, my friend.

Essentially if the other moderators and the site owner feel that you're a positive influence and a valuable contributor with a cool head then you may be asked to be a Mod. It's not compulsory and other commitments may prevent you from accepting but it is an honour to be asked.

There are a few downsides of course, as you have to sometimes make yourself unpopular with certain users, but, as in life, with a certain degree of prestige comes a certain degree of responsibility.

oke sukerkin

thank you again for your valuable info
and a good racer of course hope i can beat you one time but time will tell

see ya sukerkin
