Hey Guys, just wanted to say that I think this is an awesome thing - and would love to race with you guys but I'm not available at the listed times. Happy hunting and good luck for those in the championship hunt
👍
I'm not able to make either Monday or Wednesday qualifying times (though I should be able to make all future Wednesday qualifying times).
I was wondering if anyone is able and willing to hold a qualifying session of their own. It would be greatly appreciated
Here's a list of my available times.
GMT
Mon: 22:30 - Tues: 0:45
Tues: 03:00 - 18:30
Tues: 22:00 - Wed: 18:15
Wed: 23:30 - Thurs: 08:00
PST
Mon: 2:30 pm - 4:45 pm
Mon: 7:00 pm - Tues: 10:30 am
Tues: 2:00 pm - Wed: 10:15 am
Wed: 3:30 pm - midnight
I didn't know whether the Wednesday cut-off time was PST or GMT, it's not clearly stated in the "main" post. Also, this would be my first qualifying session and I didn't know how long they usually last.
Thanks in advance!
*I don't know if I'm officially on the GT300 roster to even set a qualifying time. I PM'd Masi Sunday at 19:30 GMT to see if I could join, but I haven't heard back yet (I'm sure he's pretty busy setting all this up). I felt like I should just set a qualifying time just to make sure I didn't ruin my chances of running later this week.
I'm afraid you are not allowed to qualify since you are not an official driver. When Masi_23 puts you up on the list, it's ok. But not until then I'm afraid.
The race quality is simply down to packet size and frequency of information transmitted. There's nothing about the physics there, the physics is all calculated locally. The higher qualities result in smoother movement of opposing cars, unless you can't meet the bandwidth requirements. At which point it goes pretty badly downhill, you can't keep track of everyone else, and you probably can't upload fast enough to everyone else either so you start jumping around for them too.
I think the highest quality setting (Very High) is overkill and risks problems. I'd suggest using High. If serious problems for multiple players are detected during warmup then POSSIBLY the room could be moved to Normal. I'd suggest that at least 3 or 4 players should be affected before considering this. If it's just one guy, sorry but you're going to have to take one on the chin for the sake of the other people's smooth racing.
May I ask when qualifying is for Friday's race? No one seems to be talking about itIf it's still at 8pm GMT on Monday/Wednesday then sorry for my stupidity.

I guess qualifying isn't on for tonight? If so, who's hosting?
Shouldn't we postpone the start of the season 1 week??
In friday we have a new update, and we don't know for sure what we are going to face.
And we have all to install the update to play probably. Some people may arrive late and have to do the update before the race.

With an update pending for Friday, I completely agree with the above.
It seems to me that You know a lot how things work.👍
Is it up to PING or BANDWITH, when we´re having 16 players in a Finnish event, theres no problem with Race Quality Very High, but when there is players from around the world , problems starts ?
Common connection in FIN is 8/1 M.Ping to Helsinki ca.10ms,
When I Ping to UK its about 50 ms, and when i Ping to L.A its over 200ms....
Chasing the set up in this GTR haas been a trip. I had gotten into MR tuning and kinda forgot how to tune FR. So on thatdecided I would run something similar to my monza tune for the Nismo Z. Instant 1.5 seconds on second lap with this tune. Still wanna drop about 1.5 more secs
