What's the worst car you can use for this and still win?

I ask because I want to use a car around a GT500 level, maybe even Kaz's car, but always get put against cars like the 787B, R8 Race Car, etc.

Also, does the game ever give you competitors in the same class cars for this event?

Cant you de tune one of your your Le Mans cars?
Start the race and make sure you are not destroying the opposition, take some power off and downforce, all aids (exept maybe ABS and whatever steering setting you like) and when you have got it right start the race for real.

No, your always going to be up against those Le-mans giants.

It depends on the grid. Sometimes it's just a Peugeot 905 and an R10, in other times it's 8+ LMP legends.

I've read somewhere that a fellow GTP player won it with a fully tuned GT-R (road car).

For a challenge try something would headlights. ;)

While it's true that I could down-tune a Le-Mans car, I'd rather do it in a car nearer the specs of the real cars that do that race. I don't really enjoy driving the LMP's, I mean I've already done the Sarthe 24hrs so it's not like I can't drive them.

I'm sure that once (and only once) while doing a opponent check for the 24hr Nurb at a friends house, we had no LMP's, but cars like the GTR Concept Race Car and similar spec to that. Despite jumping in a low powered street car and starting around 30 races to see if I could get the non-LMP grid, I've had no luck.

I'll probably end up doing it in a Super GT, or my only stealth - the Nissan GT500, it'll be a premium whatever I go with. It would've been nice to have more choice by having it scale the opposition to your current car. I'd like to enjoy the 24 hours, not detest it.

As for no lights, I think they refer to that as 'suicide' :p

I won it with the FTO Super Touring Car with R8 Race Car 2nd, would have been less than a minute in it had it not rained for 3 hours late on which put me 2 laps clear. I don't reckon this would now be possible with the new tyre wear

I used Kaz's Schulz GT-R and won!
It was edge of your seat driving as I was up against Audi R10's and other strong le mann cars, I managed to get a good lead only because of hours of heavy rain (ran on inters) and gained 30 to 40 sec a lap but when it did stop raining I was losing 30 to 40 sec a lap!

I only just won it, but I really enjoyed using my DFGT with ALL aids OFF and a normal GT500 type car instead of using over powered guaranteed to win car ('cough cough' X2010's)
