Worth buying a PS3?

I bought a PS3 mainly for gt5 a few months ago and to be honest i'm really glad i did as i now own 16 games and have not played a pc game since buying it.

so is it worth buying a ps3 just for gt5? , well if you enjoy cars then yes i would say go for it , the main thing letting the game down for me is the jaggys seen through smoke and water , but hopefully they can sort that out some time down the line.

Putting it this way. My xboxlive membership expired on the day that GT5 came out. I got GT5 and i didnt bother renewing the membership. Ive not been near the forza franchise for ages.

But if I had to choose one big "WHY?", I'd also point my finger to this "premium"-car system. I haven't quite got it yet, what was the point of making some of the cars as good as they were able while most of them were just sort of "thrown" in the game? I'm sure they have their reasons for this but just looking at that fact from an "outsiders" view, I find it rather disappointing.

My guess is they underestimated how long it would take to model the cars and they couldn't release the game with only 200 cars when Forza has 500. Perhaps the inclusion of standard cars was a reaction to the announcement of Forza 3 at E3, I may have the dates confused but IIRC the 1000 car number and standard cars was first announced about a month after E3. The best case scenario would be they plan to update standard models and will not charge us for them, I can only hope.

well he said it right off the bat... he is a fsn since the first one.... I will tell you something of complete certanty.... if you liked/loved older gts, this game is now your one and only god, don't even listen to any review if you liked the previous ones..
