In another thread carbon fiber was discussed as a neat "paint" possibility.I know wood and CF aren't really paint but we do have "chrome" paint which is neat but not realistic either.

What about wood? There are cars that might look pretty good with wood.

I get images of John Candy in 'Plains, Trains & Automobiles' - his went up in flames.

About wood, i would never paint a car like wood, not even brown tbh.
but i wouldent mind/care be negative if PD added it.

About chrome/realistic...if you mean that doesnt look real, i am with you. but if you saying that doesnt exist....

i wouldnt mind if their were those old wood panel cars as these have old world charm to them on the cars from that era, but wood paint would just look bad

One colour i would really like to see added to the game is this:

The colour of the CV8Z Holden Monaro. Was such a nice colour IRL, changed to a dark bronze with low reflection of light, yet has the high orange tinge with major light.

If anyone has seen a paint very similar to this in game, please let me know!

I'm going to jump on the "Ewwwwwwwwww" bandwagon when it comes to the notion of wood 'paint'.
(It might be good - as a joke - to use on a real boxey car (i.e. Scion xB), but from what I've seen by way of how PD handles graphics, it's likely the wood grain would get all distorted on any sort of car that has any sort of serious body curves, and it just wouldn't look good in any sort of way, but that's just my $0.02 on it...)

Personally, I think chrome is hit-or-miss.
I've seen a lot of nice cars trashed by painting them chrome, but it just the same also works very well on others. (Just like any other color, I suppose...)
I've never even received a single chrome chip from the game, and I have over 850 cars in my garage.
(The only chrome [silver] I've ever owned was from part of a trade to get rid of a FGT that I got from a gift ticket - back before the credit limit on gifts was set, obviously. I used it on my GT by Citroen Road Car, and I love it, although it's likely not all would think the same...)

I would be totally for Carbon Fiber 'paint', though.
(It's highly unlikely we'll ever see it in GT5, though. Even if we did, I personally think it would be wild to have a "reverse carbon fiber hood" sort of option, but it's even less likely we'd see that...)

Peace...

Well it would have to be executed well. And it wouldn't look good on every car. But just an option. Better than 100 shades of white! There could walnut, Birdseye maple, oak I don't know.

The closest color to that is Sunset Orange as far as I know.

He's saying it doesn't exist because you can not paint something chrome or carbon fiber. You can chrome something, but it's different than painting something with a chrome finish. You can make something in bare carbon fiber with a clear finish, but it's also not painting something in a carbon fiber look.

Further, the description of the youtube video says that the car in question is most likely wrapped in vinyl which is usually the case with those sorts of finishes.
