I search for similar polls but I could not find one. With all this talk about damage I'd figure I'd ask. I pretty much know the answer, but what the heck. P.S. If this is against the will of the Mods feel free to delete it. No harm, no foul.

Yes, It would be nice to have but I've bought all the other GT's. The reason I'd be unhappy to buy it would be if it's watered down like GT3, but I still would buy it.

Yes

I will buy GT5 in any circumstances!

We already have several GT without damage, if GT5 will have damage for me I assume like a bonus.

The PC snobs and Forza fandudes (with their cartoon level damage) can mock all they want. I'll be happily racing regardless.

Yes of course I will buy it. It's a Gran Turismo game, I know that I will have fun with it.
For me there are other thinks more importrants than damage. For example, have a lot of tracks, day/night cycle, weather effects and a great tuner vilage.

It's good to see that there are still people who have unbiased opinions.

I love Gran Turismo games, but sometimes people like you make me want to play Forza instead. GT games still have a lot to improve (damage model, decent AI, and better sounds), but if you want to play the same 🤬 every year, just with fancier graphics, go right ahead! :)

Yes of course I would it's Gran Turismo, ;) I think I along with almost everybody here will buy Gran Turismo 5 whatever features it has or doesn't have. I would prefer it to have damage, but I would definitely buy it whether it has it or not.

Yes I would buy it, like how I've boughten GT1, GT3, and GT4 knowing they did not have damage

GT5 should be, even without damage, far better then any previous GT game thanks to improved physics, graphics, and online.

So if you bought the previous GT games, why skip out on an improved version just because it lacks damage?

For the record, I voted yes, mainly because the driving model in Prologue is far superior to that of GT4. 👍 But I would still be very disappointed if they didn't include proper damage in the full game.

A little bit off-topic, but sometimes it irks me that some people have this attitude that GT games are the best racing games in the world EVER, and the rest are rubbish. :grumpy: There are still many things other racing games do better than Gran Turismo, including damage.

I would be mad as hell, but I guess I would have to deal with it.. For me no other game offers that much attention to detail.. I hope they pay attention to detail in damage. But something is telling me there will be damage.. Or even a PATCH for that.

I would buy it regardless of damage, night/day cycles, weather changes, 70+ tracks, 1100+ cars, tuner villages, etc. But first, I need a PS3

PC snobs? since when are us pc gaming users snobs. I play on my pc and i play gt5p and i love them both.

To me damage is not that important. And i would buy Gran Turismo5, even if it was just like Prologue but more cars and tracks!!

Simply, yes.

I can always put in Burnout if I want some good crashes. :D

I really do wish it will be an option (on/off) like a "Ultra Sim Mode" or something of the like.

To me damage would be a nice feature, but it's non essential to the gameplay itself. I try to drive without ever bumping into people, getting on the grass, crashing into the rails so that feature won't be very useful to me. If I want to crash my car, I'd go play Burnout Paradise. XD

On the other hand, it would be nice because it could act as a deterrent to cheaters online who use cheap methods to get better times. If GT implements it, I think they should just add realistic damage, as in you wreck no matter what if you crash at 100kph. I didn't love the damage in Forza and GTR2, for example because you crash going 200mph and then maybe your tracking is little off and your car looks a little less pretty, sometimes a tire pops, but that seems just petty and insignificant. I also want it to be a feature that you can turn off, because I can just imagine my friends throwing down the controller in disgust when they crash and restart for the 20th time in a row.

Anyways, in conclusion, damage isn't important to me, me, being a GT whore, just want to drive a perfect line everytime, I'm not interested in seeing my car demolished at the finish line by the AI, to me, it's going to make no difference whether it has damage or not, so I will still buy it, heck, I'll buy 2!

Edit: I didn't read the thread... and all my thoughts have already been posted. XD

Well, believe me, the remarks from the other side have gone WAY further than mine have. If you take offense, I'm sorry, but I'm also tired of haughty tirades from others, such as saying that Gran Turismo is the same game with prettier graphics every year. Hmm... ;)

But to offer you guys an olive branch, I do like PC sims too, or would if the PC wouldn't ruin my wheel controllers.

yes what do you think im not going to buy GT5 because it does not have damage. Couse im going to buy GranTurismo because it is my number 1 favourite race game and will fill very sick inside of me if i did buy GT5.

such as saying that Gran Turismo is the same game with prettier graphics every year. Hmm... ;)
 I'm not denying that there hasn't been any progress made; my point was just that many other racing games have, for example, offered realistic damage and good AI for many years now. What I was getting at was that I'd rather want PD to implement those things, instead of just making a graphics update every year and adding more Skylines. :D

Peace!

Yeah, I would still get it,(but first, we still have to wait for it to come out. Even if it didn't, its still Gran Turismo 5.

LOLz to the 5 who said no, I guess they never have bought a GT game in their life.

Actually, I've bought every GT, got all gold licenses in all of them. With the first GT I said "Well, maybe the technology doesn't allow them to pull it off". But what's the excuse now?

I'd consider not buying it if it had no damage modeling. I mean, gameplay-wise, what else's new?

Unless it has another MAJOR gameplay change...no.

The people that voted no.. there is a 80% chance that 90% of those people will change their mind and will buy it.
