If they can make GT6 10 times better than GT5 I'll buy it even it is price at USD150- 200 a copy.

Premium cars only
Lots of awesome track
More tuning function like its possible to change new brake, bigger tires, more range of rims
More realistic sounding car
Unlimited paint chip
Even more realistic physics
Wider range of body kit, spoiler etc...

Hey maxpontiac. Good to see ya.

Just to be clear, I have no problem giving them all my money either, but I just have this feeling that I'd rather they get working on GT6 soon. Adding DLCs would only give us more tracks, cars, and paint. In my opinion, it isn't really a new experience, specifically the A-Spec. It's either $60 for more cars and tracks in GT5, or $60 for a whole new experience and game concept.

But yeah, basically, since I'm a big supporter for PD, I can go with any of the choices, but the preference goes to that they limit the DLCs, and release GT6 soon for the ps3, just because I'm financially limited. If it's GT6 for the PS4, I'll just save up, but for sure I won't be able to get it at launch which is what I'd like.

I don't see it as that black and white daus26. I believe that if the demand for GT5 DLC is there, PD should be able to do both.

I agree that GT6 should be a PS4 game, no need to make some sort of GT5.5 on an old system. But as I will not buy a P$4 for GT6, I'd really like them to make as much DLC for GT5 as possible.

I think a GT6 on a ps3 would be equivalent to GT2 for the PS1 and GT4 for the PS2. Basically, it would be the suped up version of GT5, with a lot more content. I don't think it'd just be a GT5.5.

So basically, I think it's becoming clearer that you guys want PD to multi-task with GT5 DLC and GT6, all the way till GT6's release.

By both do you mean GT5 DLC and GT6 for the PS3, or GT5 DLC and GT6 for the PS4. I can understand the first part, but I think we may be asking too much on the second if we want PD to support GT5 all the way till GT6's release. I don't think there are any developers that have done that.

*edit

We also have to consider which content goes to which, and which ones PD wants to save for GT6. If we get so many content for GT5 through DLCs, there won't be much to look forward to in GT6. It would just pressure PD to make something more, which will result in more development time.

I'm happy with GT5 for now, they keep refreshing it, DLCs, updates, so I can wait for GT6 on the ps4, and it'll be a reason to buy the ps4 in the first place :D

People need to remember that PD has moved offices and now has more room. They could hire more people to work only on DLC, since it will mostly be new cars, and I feel old tracks slightly reworked to look good in HD. They could then work on both DLC for GT5 now and GT6 for the PS4 at the same time then.

This could help Japan's economy by creating new jobs after the earthquake, and help PD fund GT6.

Waiting for GT6 on PS4 is what I think is going to happen. If GT5 practically maxed out the PS3's potential, what would be the point of GT6? I would much rather PD have a small team working on updating/patching/DLC for GT5, and have the rest focus on GT6 for PS4, hopefully realeased within the first year or so of the PS4. Just my 2cents....

More GT5 DLCs extending to next year.

Then Full steam ahead for GT6 development for PS4. Only one GT is needed this generation

GT6 specs:

Next Generation Cell 32 Spu @ 4Ghz
4 gb XDR2 RAM @ 4Ghz
4 GB DDR2 @2ghz
100 GB Blu ray at 16 x speed

It will make Gt5 look like a ps2 game

I think GT6 is already on Sony's PS4 marketing plan.

It's what, 5 years already since the PS3 came out? The next system is probably going to come after two years at the least. PS2 came out while the PS1 was still being made.

Til then, more spec updates and DLC please.

I would like more DLC for GT5 and GT6 to be on PS4.

The only question is what could they add for GT6 that would make it different from GT5?

The stuff like weather and day/night transition being a lot more smoother, graphics getting subtly better, and the physics engine revamped to incorporate a lot of desirable attributes (tire temperatures, grip level during day and night...). I figure all the standard cars in this game being made into premiums for the next gen, and with blu ray disks capable of having a lot of layers, content being maxed out should not be an issue.

And a photo mode that will make us all need a change of underwear of course.

I'm going to say give us a GT6 on PS3. Here's why, I would happily wait a good 12 months after the PS4 is released for a GT7 game.

I wouldn't mind paying for a GT6 that has a completely fresh UI. The programmers are really competent with the PS3 hardware, I wouldn't mind if there is little graphical difference between GT5 and GT6. I would just like a game with updated car models and a sleeker online racing catagory mode. I don't even mind if they keep the same tracks in and just add one or two more. I don't care if they charge me this in segmants as DLC or as a £40 new game. It's all the same really. We will pay about the same however they decide to do it.

What I don't want is a GT6 on brand new hardware that we look at and say "it could have been so much better". Think how high the expectation is going to be on the next generation hardware. If PD can't nail the AI on this generation what's the point in upgrading the graphics, polygons and sound and giving us the same offline gameplay ?

I guess what it comes down to is do you think the PS3 can handle an improved GT game?
I think it can with ease !

If PD ever expects me to buy another Gran Turismo, they need to perform an overhaul on a scale that DLC can't do.

Gran Turismo 5 is a big game and does not need a sequel right now for the next year or two if we have DLC.

Although I´m still trying to accept the whole DLC thing in the videogame industry, I would like to have a couple of more things fixed in GT5. There is already enough material in the game, it just needs to be tweeked a little bit so GT5 can have the longevity that previous titles did. An example would be to start upgrading Standars (which we are starting to see), and mostly a better use of tracks in A-Spec events, plus a better prize system. I know many like the B-Spec thing, but IMHO I rather have that portion taken out, and have a full A-Spec remake. B-Spec is ok, but I only find it usefull like it was in GT4.

Don´t get me wrong, I like A-Spec, but it feels like I´m playing a demo if I compare to GT4 for instance. It´s not only short in content, but Events don´t have that feel that other GT titles had. Just an example: Muscle Car Championship... One track... and an Italian track?!! Would it be more logic to have at least a couple of American tracks, and maybe another couple of PD tracks? Indy Road(this track isn´t used in any event), Laguna Seca, Daytona, Cape Ring for instance and Trail Mountain, lets say. There you go. It makes more sense.

Or "Like The Wind." I know that there is no Test Track(for now), but did they have to make it like "GT Championship", "All Stars" and "Dream Car"? The three events feel the same. The could´ve used the two nascar ovals, SSR7, Le Mans with no chicanes and High Speed Ring, to make a point that it is an even for cars in the game with higher top speeds.

And that goes for many other events that just seem to be organized randomly.

So to answer the question: I rather have fixes instead of DLC. And rather wait until GT6 is released, hopefully following the previous GT formula that worked so well... Which looking at how the videogame industry is these days, that will never happen... This might be the last of the "pure" Gran Turismo titles. Next one will probably be just an instalment disc, everything in the game will cost you real money, and events will be online only. That will be a sad day for some...

I would rather have DLC for GT5 and GT6 on a new system. It is obvious that certain aspects of GT5 were held back or downgraded because of system limitations. So I think adding cars, tracks and features to GT5 while working on GT6 for a new system would be great. All the DLC should also be implemented into GT6 so it shouldn't slow down development too much. Just my opinion though.

There's no option for continued DLC support and GT6 on PS3! If PD can throw us a track and cars every so often it would be great, and I would love to see GT6 on PS3.

As for seeing GT6 in the PS3. It makes a lot of sense! I would love to see that.

It could be possible simply because how hard it was for PD to make GT5 for the PS3. And as we know, PD always wants to go a step further when it comes to graphics and such. Moving to a different plataform, will only mean that they have to start from scratch, and give cars even more detail, which means more development time.

There is another thing to consider. If they add more and more content to GT5, GT6 for a future console will end up having nothing, or having no chance to improve over GT5.

So to be honest, PD should work on GT6 for the PS3, more as an upgrated version of GT5. Add to it everything that wasn´t in GT5 (like events and such. Cars we have a lot already) and fix all the details that are heavily critized. They already have a good physics engine, a great graphic engine which other than the so-mentioned shadows, it doesn´t need any improvement.

A GT title for the PS4 can wait... We still don´t know how the future consoles will be capable of, or how hard it will be to develop software for them.

I will buy all the DLC tracks for GT5 and GT6 for Ps3 no doubt.

About GT6 on PS4 I don't know, I have to buy another console and seriously we are talkin about at least 2 years from now with many other options available on the market like rFactor 2 and C.a.r.s.
And when you have them with great graphic, physics, mods and everything going to buy another console just for the sake of GT brand.. well you're gonna think about it twice.

Only chance is if they're gonna make a truly epic GT6 with Fia GT1, GT3, DTM, Le Mans Series, a New premium Formula GT, AT LEAST 20 new real life tracks with night and weather changes, improved sound, improved online, proper race flag rules, livery editor, No FOV mistakes like camera shaking in dashboard view. They can even sell it for 120€ I'm gonna buy it no matter what. BUT it must be epic as I said.

Apologies if this has been said already, I don't have time to scan through the thread:

I hope PD/Sony does the right thing going forward. I am worried that we will have to pay several times for the same content. If there are many batches of DLC left, can we be sure that the DLC we pay for to use with GT5 will be included with GT6? Or that other content isn't just swapped out to be DLC:ed?

I am fine with paying a few bucks for each new track if it's of similar quality as Spa. However, I don't want to spend x dollars for each track for each version of GT.

If we go down that road I would rather just have a subscription like iRacing where my tracks (while more expensive with the sub) are at least mine for the entire iracing career.

Going back to the OP, it's as if we can only choose one or the other, but PD I believe are developing GT6 alongside additional content for GT5 (regardless of the platform, though if it's for PS4 they got their mitts on some dev kits very early)

Seems to me the DLC will perhaps run for a year or so, but the next full game might be 3 years off, or more.

The actual GT5 has so much potential with his actual content, I could play it for years (despite all the small annoying things we all know about...)

BUT, I think what we really need to wait about GT6 is more A-spec events to refresh the game experience (and to correclty exploit the huge content...)

and I think it's the easiest way for PD to add a big value to their game with a minimum work (compared to modelling new track/cars...)

Selling as a DLC a full new A-SPEC campaign with more themes/track varations could be so interesting for everyone... and it wouldn't forces them to give so much new content if they want to keep it for GT6 (that I hope not too far away, on PS4, with all fixed and maybe some new features, ...let me be dreaming a few...) :-)

BUT the most important thing I wanted from PD (and I'm ready to pay for it...), is more COMMUNICATION about everything...
Jordan and the community is doing a great job about the serie, but with PD we don't know anything before any release (/delay) ;-) ...
and even after we are never really sure about so many points... :-)

Waiting could be so sweet with little more informations about the future and their plans...
Marketing stuff could be so trange sometimes, I don't thing they are always doing it right to serve their interests...

A PS4 is easy to make.

Use a PS3 to start wit more RAM(2GB), mega amounts of VRAM(3GB).

And that is it.

I am coming around to the idea that Polyphony are co-developing for multiple platforms simultaneously. The photomode models are obviously over developed with a view that they will scale up well for use on the PS4 - I think I remember reading that they feature no texture mapping and are purely polygon based which would make them scale to any resolution very nicely.

Does anybody remember back in the day when Sonic The Hedgehog was released on the Megadrive and Master System at the same time? Perhaps we are going to see something similar with the next installment of GT? It's unlikely but could be a possibility. Either way, it would make sense that the work PDI is doing right now will benefit GT5, GT6 and GT7. GT5 for DLC, GT6 with the UI overhaul and any major engine tweaks plus lots of additional content. All the content developed for these two games will be ported to GT7 and the GT4 legacy content (standard cars) will likely be dropped entirely - I just hope before that happens that all the legacy content is given the premium treatment, which is quite likely.

I don't think it makes sense to worry about development time being eaten away by a particular title, as the assets created for Gran Turismo as a whole will be used for each forthcoming iteration of the series.

None of the above. I haven't even come close to driving all these cars yet. Patch in more events using the existing tracks, or add an event creator and I'll do all the work. I don't want DLC, I don't want GT6, I want GT5 to be finished.

PD have already given me everything I have wished for, so I feel a little bad, but event creator, come ahhhhhnnnn please.

It is hard answer because you can not see what each option could result to. But considering the fact that spec 2.0 was 2Gb, the possibility for wast DLC seems impossible if PD can not recycle resources better to decrease size for additional content.

GT6 should bring uniform car models, all legacy tracks, 900 degree steering animation, analog clutch support, better engine sounds and custom event generator. This would be very much perfect a GT game. Uniform car models is not obsolete for me as standards are very usable in GT5 despite the initial criticism.

PS3 is not a limiting factor for GT to evolve as game so I see no reason what would be so important that we would want to wait 5 years for GT6 to be released on PS4 instead of PS3.

Yikes, sorry for not being clear on that. The option for that is either the first or the second. Both of those options imply that GT6 will be release for the ps3. Difference between the two is how far you're willing to spend on GT5 DLC, and how far you want PD to go, before focusing on GT6 100%. The only option for GT6 on the ps4 is the last one.

*edit

I am honestly shocked how most of you are willing to wait for the PS4 till GT6 is released. I assumed you guys are ready for a new game concept design and A-Spec experience. I don't think we can get that by just DLC.

I think GT6 will be released on the PS3 in 2 years. The PS4 is probably 4 years away. I am expecting GT6 to be massive as they will build off of GT5.

Like GT2 was based on GT1, and GT4 was based on GT3, I'm expecting the same thing.

At some point, they'll have to work on GT6. In my opinion, having more events can only do so much. We need a whole new, game concept design, different features, and overall end goal if we really want to feel refreshed on a game. One of the biggest complaints for GT5 is that the A-Spec events aren't really handled all that well. It wouldn't really make any sense to change the whole structure through DLC.

To hell with DLCs, overpriced cash grabs for the most part. Give me GT6... but not before it's polished to a mirror shine, especially the online experience.
