Would anyone else be interested in seeing this in a future update? A dedicated mode, set up with a tree(light bracket) and recorded times, MPH, and reaction times. People who launch before the green light will be disqualified for the run, to set up for the next round.

There could be multiple rounds for bracket championships with HP classes, weight classes, engine/wheel drive placement classes, and other various custom setups like 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile, or full mile tracks. Official online championships would sponsor various podium places with credits depending on difficulty of the class raced.

I personally race on the Indy road course, and it would be refreshing to experience a genuine drag race feel like there was in GT4.
 
I need this, but not as much as the high speed test. And everything else that is screwed up unscrewed.
 
I would love a drag strip. It won't be very hard to make, and it will make the game lot better compared to the relatively small effort they need to put into it. Though as above post i would also like a top speed test. Maybe they could just combine it, by making an awfully long piece of straight and smooth road then then let us switch between drag racing and top speed test, or just make it a quarter mile to 5 mile drag race. Where we can just choose how long we want it.

Old school at it's best!!! Now they just need hot roads. I'm in for that.
 
They should bring drag racing and the high speed ring back from GT4. I love how you used to be able to record your 0-60, 0-100, 1/4th mile and top speeds for all your cars.

I think you mean the test course, but yes that would be great. Maybe when PD realizes they have really screwed up they will start listening to people who actually play the game.
 
Why not support it? Would make car testing much easier... and drag racing is a bit of fun as well.
 
I was thinking more of a head-to-head two-player drag race setup, but the old test track would be great for single player. Vote on. 👍
 
The thing about drag racing in GT is that the physics don't work very well for it.

-Off the line traction is terrible
-Traction is always symmetric
-Manual transmission is a button press without the clutch
-The car's clutch is on/off, and there is no "drama" when shifting gears

I wouldn't drag race in GT unless I was just messing around. But I guess if people enjoy it, why stop them? If it forced PD to fix all of the above, it would be carried over to circuit racing, which is something I do a lot.
 
i would really enjoy a drag race event..

i dont know what gt4 was like, but drag racing was cool in forza 3 👍..

i dont know what forza 3 is like now as its been fair few months since i played it(took a breather from the xbox world, more so when my xbox broke lol), but i do remember that online play, people would always select a certain car thats tuned up so it dominates all(there is a specific term i think that people use) which was taking some of the fun away, so if PD puts it in, it wont go the same way as much :crazy:, mean i dont know if gt4 was treated the same way???
