Auto-sploded transmission. That must have been one loud sound, when it cracked.

Wow, first I have seen a automatic go like that!

DAMN!

Thats crazy, I could just imagine the experience he had when that thing went. Glad to see they're atleast replacing it for free.

Must have been a Friday night built tranny by the wondrous UAW goons that work for GM. That transmission should not have gone like that.

Well I would hope so, it is under warrenty.

True, but in cases like this, most dealerships like to pull the ol' "well, the transmission was under warrenty, but the reason it went was because of this part over here that went first, which isn't under warrenty, so unfortuantly we can only replace the part, and not the labor...which is $150 an hour."

Or they will tell you that you put excessive wear on it, which this guy more then likely did.

I see so many trailblazers on the road that all I can assume is that this is a freak accident. or this guy was neutral-dropping it...

The SS is built to rag on, a buddy of mine has one...actually any son of a high-ish ranking GM official in this area has one. I think there are seriously 20 TB SS at my school. Anyways he rags on that thing pretty hard, lots of "drifts" lots of burnouts, and just plain old abuse.

I think that guy was doing neutral drops though on a poorly made tranny.

I don't know about in the US but dealers here they are pretty good with warrenty (official new car dealers I mean). weaseling out of a full cost part replacement most likely lost them a future customer.

American dealers, well at least the ones around me are uber anal about warranties. The Chevy dealer actually wanted to void my warranty because I put euro taillight housings on my truck and a couple months later I had a major electrical failure. They told me the lights caused it and I was going to have to pay for 400 bucks worth of repairs. I found that law that says they have to prove the mod was the cause of the failure (I can't think of the name right now) and told them I was going to take them to court over it. Needless to say they fixed it without any more questions.

But ya dealers here have the sleeziest people in the world working for them, anyway they can nickel and dime you, they will.

Hey, we just tell you the truth about your car. You get two options: Take it or leave it.

I could see a dealer declining warranty authorization if there was evidence that the car was modified or hacked up; otherwise, if a car is left bone-stock it's nearly impossible to prove that somebody was abusing their car.

At low miles like this, it's a bad idea for the dealer to decline replacement. In any case, it seems they covered it under warranty.

I've never once been told the truth about a car by a dealer, that's the way it is here, is might be different in other areas, I can't say, I've only ever been to Michigan dealers.
