Believe it or not...after all this time I still had NOT driven the NISSAN R92CP Race Car '92!!! :dunce: I was so pleased to FINALLY have some super Group C/LMP cars in the "Game"...but then equally disappointed when I found the only real competition for them was the FORMULA GT Series! :irked: I'm currently attempting to WIN as many races as possible with "Stock" Prize Cars as reported HERE & just got around to running a test for the FUJI 1000kms.

I took a 0 miles R92CP...added R-2 & R-1 Tyres...a VERY Basic chassis set-up & ran a few practice laps to set the trans. Right out of the box it was perfect for Fuji's long straight. I did a quick check of Smallhorses' excellent ENDURANCE reference HERE & figured I might be in trouble! :scared: The Big NISSAN in the hands of the "AI" yielded only 12 Laps while some others went more than 20 on a set of Tyres!

Not to worry! Started in 6th of course but by T-2 of Lap #1 I was already in front & "Smokin' 'Em" 👍 Started lapping them on circuit #8 & was VERY pleased to have the tyres last until Lap #20! In & Out of the pits & barely lost the Lap I had the Sauber down but regained it quickly. By the end of my little "Test" at Lap #40 both the Sauber & BMW were down two...the Toyota GT-One & Bentley trailed by three & the lowly Panoz was about 5 laps behind.

GREAT Handling...Pulls like a"Freight Train" & is VERY easy on Tyres! IMHO...If you can't win ANY RACE this thing is elgible for...you just need to PRACTICE! PRACTICE! PRACTICE!...O.G.

I´m mostly impressed by it´s never ending acceleration. But as for group C cars, The R92CP is by no means the best on fueleconomy and tyrewear. I´ve found that the 787B is the overall best at those things, with the Sauber C9 on second. However, this only applies if no power is added, ie stock engines.
It may also be some differences concerning tracks, since I tested all group C cars on Le Sarthe II for the 24hrs race.

Ha! I drove this car for the first time today. I just wanted to see how fast I could go without adding any power modifycations. I managed 450kmh on the Test course back straight, 425kmh through the first turn and on La Sarthe II I did about 408kmh. Great car to drive.

Overall Best? What about the Pescarolo?

Astonishing car, Bob the B-spec. driver drives 8 laps, comes in with only 1 liter fuel left :dunce:

I don't like the R92CP, crappy sound and it can't beat the 1223 HP of the 88C-V :sly:

Even though I have the Minolta 88C-V I don't think I've used anything else other than the R92CP when doing races vs other LMP cars, apart from the Fuji Endurance to win it :D

After spending some time at Nurburgring sorting out the setup it was racing well, definitely a good solid car that can win most if not all of the LMP races at stock :)

Notice how my post say group C cars and not LMP... If they are accounted for aswell, the Pescys are on top with the R8.

I love the group c rides and that think is a fu**ing beast!!!! :) That thing can make so much horsepower and boy dose it pull and it will easily clear 400 kmh! it is soooooooooo fassssssssssssssssssst! YeeHaw :)

Maybe I should be using the R92CP more often, especially after a 3 month absence from GT4. The only thing I used it for was the Tsukuba Wet Race and that was a LONG time ago.

What's so awesome with the Minolta 88 CV?
In 1988, the Le Mans (overall) winner was a Silk Cut Jaguar, (GB Jaguar XJR-9 LM) and the closest 88 (Toyata 88 C) was in 12 place, after a lot of Porsches... (check this link

Did the R92CP ever race at LeMans?

...check this out, and you can see for yourself. I can´t find it. Not in ´91, ´92 or ´93, so I don´t know.

Great Site 👍, thanks!
Still, I can't find any Nissan or Toyota near the top finals at any year...
Maybe the Nissan & Toyotas were faster than Jaguar, but couldn't hold up 24 hour s race?

I got this car on tuesday, and I haven't really been able to test it as much as I wanted (my GT4 disc is broken :(), but I was able to do a few laps, and I wasn't at all impressed - I even checked the prize list to make sure we were talking about the same car!

Yes, it's an okay car, but it doesn't seem anything really special, when compared to the Formula Gran Turismo that I have covered about 2000 miles in, it makes the R92CP seem pretty poor. Maybe it's because I was running on stock settings, I don't know. I do think it will become my new Endurance car if it's good on tyre wear (Because the FGT sucks when it comes to tyre wear :D)

The Toyota raced in ´89, as the ´88 model was finished too late for the ´88 race at Le Mans. I know I´ve read about the Nissans too, but I can´t remember where and when or what the case was!
