Erm..... it's tarmac. I would reckon on another Loeb win but would love to see Gronholm get the championship this year. I considered going with mates but my work bonus arriving late (as in not yet) put a stop to that. Next year maybe.

I don't post in this thread often so hi.

My dad got tickets for us both to go to the stage at Stormont. It will be interesting because I don't know much about WRC.

Should be fun though!!!!

Cool. My mate comes from Ireland. But yeah, I think Ireland are up to holding a rally. The roads there are most likely chalanging, and it is likely that there will be lots of companys wanting to sponsor this event. Thsi rally has great potental!

wow, i live in ireland and i didnt even know about this til yesterday!
i mean i heard that they were thinkin about it last year but now....

cant wait till the come around the south (Wexford, Kilkenny Etc) That is if one of these years they ever do! The roads here are challenging as hell. The rally here every year is so good, it would be amazing to have the actual WRC!

It is unlikely it will go to the south soon because it is a cross-border event so it'll probably stay in this area.

Great to find another irish person on this site!

There is an irish guy in 9th. Looks like Loebs got it.

Kris Meeke? From Dungannon? Came 3rd at the Super Stormont Special stage, impressive concidering I'd never heard of him before.

It was a good nights entertainment, byt the stands were too close to the track, so couldn't see right:grumpy:

Havnt heard of Meeke? He was a protege of Colin Mcrae until passed away, drove Citroen C2 in the JWRC for a few years. Think he still is but obviously in a wRC car for Ireland.

Well, Ford are champions for this season but the drivers title is well up for grabs for either Gronholm or Loeb, Loeb is just 6 points clear of Gronholm goin into Rally GB.

According to ITV on which I watched the rally highlights, Gronholm was actually K.O'ed in his crash, then suffered short term memory loss. He is fine now but couldnt enter under super rally rules. It didnt even look that bad a crash, it was nasty but doesnt look as severe as the consequences would suggest.

If you havnt seen it:

Great news, the rally was such a success that they have decided to have it as the season opener in 2009.
