okay, i'll give it a shot...

fave track, Argentina, fave car Accent WRC...

i have given up on this game because i find it frustrating....especially Monaco...when you hit a wall or tree or rock....you ALWAYS spin round and end up facing backwards...

and when you rub a wall, you get stuck to it and cant pull away from it....WRC (the first one) is not like that....and thats why i prefer that despite its (slightly) inferior graphics...

I know what you mean, but i've seen simmilar things happen in real life. Although in real life WRC the car is usually minus it's rear suspension. I kinda want to play the game again now because I watched the Itailian rally on the weekend.

Anyone finished the game? I got it just a week ago, did the novice and is about to start on mid-level wrc.

i find it too difficult also, the time checks are unrealsticly hard when in difficult mode....

i dont think i will be finishing the game any time soon...its in a cupboard in my bedroom collecting dust...which is a shame coz i got it when i came out last year and was really enthusiastic when i got it....then i played it and thought...

this is ****e...!!!:irked: i want my bloody money back....but since i got it in woolies for £15 and everyone else was selling it for £39.99, i though i should keep it and try again later.....

it wont stop me fromwanting to buy WRC3....but i may rent it first....

yeah...i have played the demo....and its good...i need to save up my pennies, :)

Ideally, you dont want to hit walls. getting stuck and spinning when hitting them is to envoke realism into the game.
admittedly I am currently up to argentina and comming about 8th, but i am still having fun with it.
we are not playing dodgem cars ere folks, this is wrc!!!
I think they could have upped the damage a bit. I like the damage on the cars but i dont think there is enuff of it.
I think its about stage 4 in argentina where there is a jump followed by a right 4 corner... i went sailing off the drop-off
it was funny to watch, but in retrospect I'd have rathered if it had ended the stage there cause IRL it would have. :)

the game is VERY challenging (even tho I have beat some of the times in the rally of Oz in time trial) but very rewarding to a smooth driver.

does anyone here play it with a wheel? is it better with a wheel?

i have got back into this game recently....i was trying on the pro mode and losing, now i play on novice and i find it too easy....

my fave track is Spain 3rd track in novice mode....(begins with a v)..

still love my little Accent WRC though....:)

dont mean to be anything like a cheater, but i have a cheat to get a load of extras. look below:

at the archives screen, go to the cheat bit and put in this code:

EVOS

this get you all the 'extreme' cars, out of this world rally cars with 750-800hp!!!!

its a very cool game. VERY difficult tho, i cannot win tarmac stages, i just cant do it. may fave locations would be finland (love the yumps) or australia... kenya is great fun too.

hate tarmac. id say the accent or peugot are my faves atm, stupidly i entered a championship in the evo VII. ive grown accustomed to it, but it just takes too much effort to swing that tail. also, in tarmac where there are gay railings on a narrow road, the length of the car becomes a problem. ahh well, im winning at the moment, hopefully i can hold off the amrauding hoards through the upcoming tarmac levels.

to anyone unsure, this game is much better than cmr3. im not sure about cmr4, ill probably get that too when the price comes down.

I'm not sure, I thought it was like that in the First WRC game.

I just got my copy of this back and just picking it up i'm still very impressed with the game. It's just a shame I don't have much time to play it.

i wouldnt say the notes are late as such...but i would say that your co-driver gives you bum directions sometimes....i guess its supposed to make it realistic...

for instance, he'll say "30 long hairpin right, over crest, right 5"

and the symbol will show you a hairpin, but when you get to it you find its little more than a small corner...so you do a handbrake turn and find yourself running into the right hand verge....he over exaggerates sometimes...

the replays in the game are good, in fact theyre the best...so much so that you can almost read the pace notes in the co-drivers hands...the in-car details are great and the camera angles are good outside the car also...with a pause function....much better than GT3.

I see, well that isn't too bad. There a couple of notes in CMR2 (only rally game I have so far) which overestimate, or even underestimate, the turn coming up ahead. I still say a 2 right/left tightens should be referred to as hairpin. :mischievous: :P

As for symbols, you really should take those off (if you haven't already) ups the realism a notch. The only on-screen-display I leave is the gear number and tachometer in CMR2. Of course, after 2 years of playing the game you get to know pretty much all the stages in the game by heart so... :D

ok, i have officially finished my first run at it...
funny, i chose citroen and loeb as the driver and came second!
also i dont know if this is coincidence but the person who came first was gronholm who was mile ahead of me.... much like the 2002 championship IRL!

anyhow, my restart is with the skoda (my wife liked the name :/ ) and i have just finished argentina with zero points on the board... i am in expert (highest) mode.

the skoda is damn hard to drive.

the pace notes do come late at times... way too late.

what POV do you guys like to drive in?
i started in bonnet view on my first run.
my second run i am using driver view which is substantially harder... i might go back to bonnet view

Thats one little thing that irks me about the game. You can't just turn the symbols off without turning everything else off, including the speedo and the split times which I suppose is realistic. But i'm used to them being there.

From what little i've played the game, i've used the drivers eye view camera. It makes it the rulz00rz.

i use the outside angle where you look down at the back of the car and see the whole thing....it in car aspect is too difficult for me...especially when the windscreen breaks....

i use the opposite way in gt3 however...funny that...

ving, have you completed the game on pro mode yet?

yeah... but i only got second.

i havent completed expert mode tho. I am in the middle of it and i am doing the acropolis rally and coming last
the skoda suxorz!

^the skoda seems very slow. well, i won professional level, with some difficulty. there a couple of annoying things: the notes DO come too late at times, for instance as your going over a crest, ull just be hearing "...over crest into 6 right". very ****ing annoying, especially at night. as someone has already mentioned, this adds realism i guess. also, sometimes corners will not be as the navigator reads the, ie a croner will be A LOT sharper than the nav calls it.

these are minor quibbles tho. the game is extremely realistic, the finns win in finland as in real life, and the tarmac specialists hound u on the twisty roads of corsica and italy.

great game!

haha yes. it does... ive learned that my driving style is best suited to the citroen and hyundai, maybe the pug as well, tho that car seems VERY unstable on the rougher courses like cyprus and kenya. the skoda is just sloooooow. what on earth posessed you to drive that? im seriously loving this game, im gonna start an expert championship in the citroen when i get some spare time. very time consuming, doing a full championship *sighs*. such a worthwhile investment tho...

late

I like the FF support in this game, feels pretty good, especially all the different surfaces in Argentina, Cyprus, Greece ... many many great tracks! Just don't touch the rails and you'll be fine. I'll be interested if WRC3 can offer just a tad more realism. I was greatly disappointed by CMR4, especially wheel support is lame. :irked:
