Do you enjoy creative writing? Or perhaps you are just looking for another excuse to play GT5 ? Well, this is the stuff for you.

I am currently working on a (very) small project of mine. The aim is to make a real life, magazine feel style, car review.
Obviously I am well aware of other similar projects that are already taking course,(GTLife is a brilliant piece of work). However, my project is slightly different, and aims to be a free lance type.

My plan is to assemble a small team that can cooperate with me in different areas of this project. The areas in question would be:

  • online:
Will need drivers that are willing to cooperate with me on the track. Drives willing to perform certain actions on queue (things like parking the car in specific places, drive side by side, etc...). This will make the photoshoot go along much smoother for me, allowing me produce the shots that I need. Bare in mind that I live in the UK, so you would have to be available to come online by GMT +0, London time zone.
  • Writing:
Along with the photos, I need to produce some text to come along with them. Unfortunately, English is not my primary language, and so I lack the understanding necessary to assemble a decent piece of text to fit the purpose. Your job would be writing some creative text that can fit the photo set, and of course, the point of the article in question. You are free to let your mind go and write pretty much anything that you want. As long, of course, you keep it free from foul language.

Once I assemble all the necessary elements, and both the photos and text have been produced, I will move on to publish a sample version of the material on GTPlanet, and then, its up for grabs**

Project #1, [The 3 Brothers Go On A Road Trip]
Possible date for photo shoot :: Thursday 15th, or Sunday 18th

For the first material, I want to have a journalistic feeling of a road trip. Where 3 drivers go on an adventure to find out which is best; Toyota GT86, Scion FR-S, or the Subaru BRZ.
The plan would be to have these 3 cars being put up against each other, and compare their small (yet plenty) differences. Think of it like a Top Gear challenge, or a Speedhunters article.

  • For this particular project, I will need you guys to have at least one of the following cars in their respective colors.

Toyota 86 GT '12 [Orange Metallic]
    Scion FR-S '12 [Firestorm]
Subaru BRZ S '12 [WR Blue Mica]

  • Also, and this is very important, they must be in NEW condition, meaning, no visual modifications of any kind.
    No aero kits.
    No exhausts.
    No carbon hood.
    No racing tyres
    .

Thank you very much for reading, and I hope I didn't bored you all too much with this. :dopey:

**My objective here really is to go free lance on this project. No strings attached, no dead lines, no obligations to anyone but ourselves. if this concept does not work, or if you have a better idea, please, feel free to share it with me. I would be more than happy to learn about your opinions.

cool I would like to do this

Wonderful! 👍
Would you like to help out by being a driver, or writer?

This was done before and only had a 3 issue run =(

I am aware of it. However, I am not producing a magazine, only material for the magazine.

With the help of willing assistance, we'll produce articles, and other stuff for others to publish. Hence, the free lance idea. :dopey:

I hope 0 GMT doesn't mean midnight (think you mean GMT+/-0?) but other than that, if the times you're planning for the different shoots and stuff are good (I'm GMT+1 so shouldn't be a huge problem), while I might not be able to commit full time, I'm willing to give it a shot and see what happens :)

Yes, my apologies. I did in fact meant GMT+0, London time.
You won't have to commit yourself entirely to this project. You can simply aid me whenever you feel like. Maybe only help me once if you feel like it. This is why I want to make it free lance. Anyone can join at any given time. 👍

I currently already have someone willing to publish the material. Now, I just need someone to drive the cars, as I'll be doing the shooting, not the driving.

I would also like to help. :) I could help with the driving (can only stay up late at the weekends, hope it's not a problem), but also with the writing, if it's needed. My writing skills are not awesome, but judging by my grades, my writing is decent.
I live in Germany, that means GMT+1.

This project sounds very interesting, especially the style of it. 👍

I think I could help with the driving/online bits, but I don't think I'd be good at the writing.

Want to test your writing skills? Try this for a challenge: do a quick review of the first object that comes to your mind. A pen, spoon, notebook, etc...try doing it in less tham 200 characters too.

This will help boost your skills, and help me decide if you're cut out for the job.

I like the idea! But with leading a team and having a time difference it would not work out so well. Good Luck!

This project interests me. I would easily like to help out as a driver.

Exclusive Stock vs Tuned Episode? ;)

I don't understand the concept of it entirely, but it could be something to do in the future. 👍

All those who are interested in helping me as drivers, please read the following:

  • [*]You must understand that I will be giving very specific instructions (in other words, bossing around...a lot). For communication purpose, I will be using a headset microphone. It is not required that the rest of you use one as well, but it would certainly make things easier.

[*]In order for me to capture the actually take photos, I must have a replay to play back and forward several times to capture that perfect shot. However, I can only save a replay of an actual race.

[*]So, I will be doing a 1 (maybe 3) lap race. What this means is some of you will "win", and others will "loose" the race. If you're bother by your win/loss numbers, I'd recommend you not to take part.

[*]Please add me on PSN [DEKOWOLF]. Before we meet up in my private lobby (date yet to be announced) we will have a briefing. Where I will explain to you the team what we'll be doing, etc...

Thank you for taking part. If all goes well, I should have a date announced soon, so keep your eyes on the OP.

Like I said, if the time is good, I'm in for (almost) whatever it may be. No problem for me about the win/lose thing if we can sort it somehow 8so it's not gonna be the same person all the time) but doesn't really bother me, got 17 millions anyway.

Put me up for the Scion or Toyota.

i'm mostly online around 5-6 pm GMT time, sometimes later/earlier :)

I'll take the BRZ, but a quick question: will the 3 cars need to be completely stock with no performance modifications?

As long as the VISUAL of the car remains completely stock, you may do whatever you wish to it.
I don't think reducing the weight or reinforce the body work changes the car interior. So you can add those if you wish.

As for the items I mentioned, they do change the looks of the car.
Racing exhausts are visible and very different from the original ones.
Same goes for the tyres. Racing tyres are smooth, unlike road tyres.
We won't be going that fast around corners anyway, so grip and power is not really a problem.

Just make sure you don't make it too powerful, or the rest of the pack won't be able to catch up.

The point is, to have the cars "borrow" from the dealership, so that we can take them for a spin. Get the idea? :sly:

I'll be using a mate black EVO with racing soft and just over 300BHP. The EVO will be the car that I'll be following during the replay, so that I can get to the camera points.
I can also catch up with the pack, reach certain vantage points (instead of "walking" with the camera later). This makes my photography job much easier, it doesn't mean I'll racing to the finish line and score an easy win. :)

Depending on at what of the day, this'll be, I might be able to give a helping hand, if needed, as a driver.

Hmm... I think I'll pass on this one.

**Terrific! What else will you NOT be doing? :dopey:

Moving on....I am planing the shoot to take place this Thursday 15th, or Sunday 18th November.
I only need 3 drivers, if the writer takes part as one of the drivers, that would make the writing part a lot easier.

So, first 3 to send me a FR on PSN get the spot. Plus 1 in reserve just in case one of them can't make it.
Just as long as you bring one of the cars in their specified condition, and don't mind being told what to do, you are the perfect candidate. 👍

**Please, do NOT take my sarcasm too personal. It's all in good spirits and the best of intentions. :)

EDIT: Found myself 3 drivers, one of which will be doing the writing. The lobby will be open Thursday, 15th. Or Sunday, 18th Please let me know which is better for you by PM. I'd like to coordinate this as soon as possible.

It looks like i missed the first issue:grumpy:I'm interested in driving in a photo shoot one time to see what its like. I've got over 600 cars and $16mill, so getting a specific car for a shoot shouldn't be a problem. I'm on the East Coast of the US, I think I'm GMT-5. So time shouldn't be to bad.
I'll be looking to see if you do another issue. Good Luck with the Magazine:cheers:

Thank you both for taking interest in my project. Sadly, as stated by ryzno, the first step of the first project is complete. Now, I am currently working on the photos, while my writer is working on the article itself.

I should stress though, that this project is not a magazine. Instead, I make the material for the magazine.
Think of me as a journalist who writes for a newspaper. Only, I have a team of volunteers who help me cover my weaknesses, mainly, writing. :)

I will keep updating this thread with future projects, so keep your eyes pealed. :sly:

I would be interested also in future projects - I am a writer/photographer IRL and would be willing to help out where I can for the next project (and of course I love driving). So let me know if you need me when the time comes.
