I may not be the only one that knows of this, but there is a glitch in GT6 that allows you to use gravel tyres in non-gravel events. This also works for tarmac and snow tyres too. Here is a guide on how to pull off this glitch:
^If you Pit In during the event and change tyres, you will not be able to continue using the specialist tyres for the remainder of the race.
When the event starts, you should notice that in the bottom-right the tyre type has not been corrected for the surface.
I first found out about this glitch when I was practicing the Sierra time rally. The car I was running was not set to the tune which had my rally build on. When I realised this and switched to my rally setup, I realised that the car was fitted with the OZ Racing gravel rims. And when I took control, it actually still had the dirt tyres fitted.
- Purchase any car that can run on all surfaces (Most production cars under 550pp can have all tyre types fitted)
- Purchase a set of the special-terrain tyres.
- Keep one of your tuning setups (A, B or C) with the normal road tyre, and have one of the two remaining setups fitted with the specialist tyre.
- Start an event using the tuning setup fitted with the tyres for the surface.
- Before starting the race, go to your vehicle settings and switch back to the setup with the "wrong" tyres*.
- Start the event^.
