there were some people who stuck their foot above the trench hoping to get shot, as although they would lose their foot they would at least be allowed to go home.

You said the same thing two years ago on post number 9.

Nonsense? ISIS and Al Qaeda are a direct result of events started over 100 years ago. Lets not forget what's going on in Europe...

Anyhow its quite a shame that WW1 have been reduced nothing but a moment in history as oppose to relevant history. Anyhow WW1 should be remembered as a stupid conflict started out stupidity.

It's nonsense that it doesn't get discussed, that's what I meant. For ISIS and Al Qaeda you need to look far further back than WWI but don't let that confuse the issue; WWI is still tremendously relevant now and is still discussed as such. Maybe that's more a feature of European than American society but that's how it is.
