Funny thing is that I bought my brother a wheel for christmas because he has room to set it up in his house. I might just have to take my ps3 to his house to do this, but I barley have the time oh well thanks for the advice guys.

...seriously?
With a wheel or the DS3?

I feel incredibly terrible at this game suddenly with all these people clearing Monza so fast and I can't even get close.

Well I used a wheel - I also left it last. So having cleared the other two, I as a little more used to how the X2010 drove. It's the easiest track to learn i.e. 90% of it is figuring out how to negotiate the 3 chicanes (and you can cheat on one of them).

Suzuka is the most technical. I also invested 10+ hours on Prologue last year to clear the final race on this track when I first got my wheel. I thought this would help me - even then it took me 2.5 hours to post a bronze time.

Nurb was the most frustrating. It didn't take me too long to get single lap times that were on easily on-pace for the bronze time, but for the life of me it took me forever to string two good laps together. Negotiating the rumble strips would often catapult my car in the air, completely screwing up my lap times.

Yeah, I get the feeling the GP/F part of the ring is deceptively bumpy. I've had problems with my car bottoming out in places on it.

I was thinking of using the X2010 to do the Suzuka 1000km endurance race - would you suggest it would be a wise investment of time? Perhaps I could come out of the 172 laps with a few decent lap times and it might set me up with the ability to do the challenge.

I did 3 laps at the start yesterday and lapped the GT opposition, so winning won't be an issue (I still skidded off 2 or 3 times every lap).

Can anyone suggest any drugs I should take before trying to do the challenges? Naturally, avoiding alcohol is a must, but I get the impression there are some illegal things which could be taken to speed my brain up to the required level!

I'm at lvl 30 and pretty much stuck on this challenge. I'm using a DS3, and only working on Nurburgring GP (I'll get to Monza and Suzuka later.)

My first attempt was 12 seconds off bronze. Over the course of 3 or 4 hours I've managed to claw it down to just 2 seconds off. I'm running SRF, but still manage to find the grass every couple of attempts (especially in the Schu S.) From everything I've read, a wheel helps a lot. With that said, I think at least bronze is doable with the DS3. Of course all corners are make it or break it on this challenge, but none moreso than the Schu S- if you bobble and hit the strips, you're off, if you lift too much you let too much time go by. Turns 4 and 5 which preceed the Dunlop corner also present a challenge as you are fighting to sweep left only to have to dive right at a lower speed.

I'll keep having a go at it with the DS3. I think I can bronze Nurb. At some point I'm going to bust out my Logitech Momo (original version) and see if it works. Worked with Prologue.

If you're going to do that race anyway, there's no reason not to use the X2010 for practice, but I'd say it's difficult to keep your concentration up for that length of time. It'll help a little - it'll probably help more doing some real practice on an empty track. Because at the speed you're going, you'll be lapping cars so frequently it'll be rare to have clear track ahead of you for an entire lap.

I'm obviously no expert as I only bronzed the challenges, but here are a couple of suggestions - I found taking a wider racing line between turns 2/3 can net you a few tenths (there's a very large runoff area that almost allows you to go full throttle). When negotiating the final chicane, hug the right-side curb/rumble-strip area as much as possible. There are a few box-type movable barriers which won't DQ you if you hit them (although they might slow you down a little).

I actually considered intentionally hitting them on the first lap to get them out of the way so that I would be free to cut across it on the 2nd lap to possibly gain some time, but I found the precision needed to do that was harder than just shaving off time by straight practice.

You are in exactly the same position as me =/ it really sucks. im using SRF ABS at 1 and traction at 5. i know that sounds stupid but it works with my method of the final chicane. turns out if u catapault into the white blocks which move you do not get DQ'd so my plan is smash them out the way on the first lap and then do a massive corner cut on the second. got so close earlier.. two 1.07.9's so i should get it soon :)

the rest is just crazy the way ive got 4 and 5 to work is brake just before the braking line dissapears and hug the right hand curb. keep to the right then brake down to about 100 (this is the only bit of the actual ghost replay thats really possible with a DS3 :P ) the keep little bits of accelerator on as you go round the corner, this seems to ground the x2010 very nicely

as for monza its really just go in as straighter line as you can lol

good luck :)

I would like to see Vettle get gold on these with a DS3, when he does that i will respect PD again, for making a challenge so, so, so hard for normal DS3 users!

I can only get bronze on Monza, and after over 6 hours spent on Nürburgring I'm still 0.9 from Bronze, so know I will go the "easy" way and grind B-spec to level 35. :grumpy:

I gave my DFGT a try for the first time, in the Vettel Challenge, but OMFG,
It feels so wrong tearing up Monza in 1 minute...

I'm not shy of a challenge but it's wrong, it's not Gran Turismo.

But anyway, I've silvered Monza in about 1 hour, I gave Nurburg and Suzuka a try.

Nurburg feels strange, very bouncy, especially in turns going downhill, the car want's to bounce of the track, without touching the kerbs...

And Suzuka? errhm.. It's a really really fast track with a X1...

I've been grinding to Level 30 as fast as I can because I've felt up to the challenge, but the way everyone makes it seem kind of makes me not want to, haha. Guess I'll be bound to being one of those people asking for a X1 too, haha.

I feel confident about it, at least.

If you have a wheel, it's absolutely possible to gold them all, but it takes some time and practice...

Grinding to Bspec lvl 35 to get a X1 is maybe the better way to go, so you can practice with the car even more!
