I only bronzed monza with a remote. And that took many hours and a lingering thumb blister. Had to borrow a wheel. TC:1, abs:1, stability mangent on, skid force on, steer assist off. The lower the traction contol the better as you are unleashing the cars "real" potential.

lol what a douche. anyway just consider yourself lucky. man i love to have that challenge. be a while before ill drive it :D

Anyone got any tips/videos for the 3 tracks? This is ridiculously hard.

I have got all bronze with a controller but it was stupid hard and took alot of time. the best tips i can give you is just bomb it into the corner watch some youtube videos and watch what gear their in.

It took me a couple hours for the monza and GP tracks but the Suzuka was the devil in every way shape and form.

but i will say this for the gp track just the corners after the hairpin just full throttle all the way around the left hander. you do not have to be on the track for that section so for a controller it is the fastest way i found for it.

on monza you will have to be careful when u do the second shicane you can cut the track on the inside but just make sure u do not hit the boxes on your right and then the next 2 right handers are the hardest corners with a controller. the first right hander go from 5th to 4th then the second go from 4th to 3rd. It might sound easty but it is really sketchy with a controller.

and for suzuka i dont even know how i got bronze on that with the controller it was just luck.

hopefully i made enough sense that you can get the X1 goodluck

Soo.. I'm guessing it's harder than the AMG challenge? Lol. I got silver on those :D

hmm.. let's put this way

AMG Challenge to get GOLD with DS3 = 80/100 level of difficulty

Vettel's Challenge to get BRONZE with DS3 = OVER 9000 / 100 level of difficulty

i'm not kidding.

I have just finished getting bronze on Suzuka, which is for sure the hardest of the 3, Nurburgring took me about 4 hours, Monza about 40minutes

With Suzuka I changed the button layout so i could have full throttle and brake at the same time, which helped me get through the S section abit quicker, just dabbing the brake when needed and having full power instantly helped me alot

Main tip is to practice, practice, practice and then practice somemore you will soon learn the limits of the car and then it will be a little easier, took me about 6 hours in total to finish Suzuka

Bronze are around 2:10-2:15 for 2 laps. Gold is just over 2 minutes and silver is slightly slower than gold. 1-2 secs slower. I'm going to pick up the driving force GT and have a run at silver. Working 20 hrs and collecting 20 hrs should give me the time to silver if not gold these races!

If bronze for Monza is 2:10 then that will be really easy, is there a good car to use as practice for the X1 challenge? Maybe the F1's?

GhostRider117, can you please tell me what are the times to beat?

Nurburgring - Bronze 2.14.500
Monza - Bronze 2.10.500
Suzuka - Bronze 2.16.500

Can not remember Silver and Gold times, didn't really take much notice of them, i was happy with getting bronze :)

the chalenge is 2 lap long... so 2:10 is not realy an easy time to beat... there is no car that is even near close to X1... if you are a god with the F2007 wont help a lot... the X1 is from another planet (like this chalenge) ;)

Wow monza sounds easy. i get 1:27's on there with the F1's

Cool story... Regardless of how well you do with an F1 car, the X1 is a completely different beast. I've had to throw away mostly everything I knew about braking points on these three tracks.

It's also 2 laps not 1. I have a Driving Force Pro and I did Suzuka first being the only tracks I know from previous GT's and Forza. It was definitely a real challenge compared to the rest of GT5 so far.......

I thought I would never get bronze even on Suzuka so I put the controller in for one run, then immediately went back to the wheel. Though after getting bronze for them and owning/driving the car I have definitely got used to it more, it's really about trusting the car without any of the assists as they hamper the cars' performance. Swirly above has given pretty much the gears and technique I used to bronze Monza on the wheel so follow that and it should help for a controller too I guess. Good luck.

You start from the pits and you have to do 2 laps, not so easy now is it? I will take my hat off to the guys that complete this with a controller, driving an F1 car does not prepare you for the X-1, the car is on a different level.

I did it with my G27, gold at nurburgring and monza, but only bronze at suzuka, its insanely difficult to pull off the kind of time you need. I cant seem to find a way to take spoon fast, i think i am losing time there.

With the others i made sure i got gold as i could see where i could improve, but at suzuka i am failing to see where i can find the time to put me at gold, so for now i will give it a rest, the car is mentally exhausting to drive, and the FFB on it is just savage, my wheel was extremely hot.

These are by far the hardest challenges/events in the game, you need to be lightning fast with your reflexes and your timings for everything need to be spot on. Driving the car is not hard, but pushing it fast enough is hard, 2 laps ensure you must be consistant and if you want to beat the times you have to try to be smooth. It is very doable and if you have a wheel i bet most will pull off a bronze, skilled drivers will pull of golds without a doubt.... But Suzuka is up another level again, only a perfect 2 laps will achieve gold.. that is the ultimate challenge.

Yea I'm a ds3 user also, but man it is really that hard trying to do the challenge with it. I managed to bronze monza 30-40 minutes in, and decided to try nurburg. Came within about 4 secs after awhile and said forget it lol, I wasn't gonna spend several hours trying to bronze that course and then maybe several days on suzuka so I went and grabbed a dfgt the next day and beat it that day. Props to the people that got it done with the ds.

The main thing like what Chimuel pointed out is the characteristics of the car. It just drives so unlrealistically that you have to adjust to it. If you guys ever played Initial D at the arcades, that's the only way I can tell you how to drive the car lol. You have to pitch the car hard just like you do in ID and think just as fast.

Lol I would have to say ID4, the X1 basically turns like the cars in initial d. You can throw the car into a hairpin just like you would in inital d knowing that the car won't spin out, and the car grips so good that you can lay into the throttle just like initial d when your in a turn too(assuming your in the correct gear and all). Driving around nurbugring is almost like driving on tsuchisaka or happo lol.

Lol, that's the only way I can think of to drive the x1. You kinda have to get into initial d mode again to drive the thing. The braking points are different from real world cars like Chimuel said earlier. Having the car makes a big difference too. I just got gold on monza and will try nurburg gp/f and suzuka later. Hope this helps a little lol.

anyone got basic sector times for G/P track, gah you have to x2 a good lap for bronze, have trouble doing so. I got bronze on Monza, haven't gone to suzuka yet, dreading it though =S

I am not even close to reaching Bronze times. I really haven't put that much time into it yet but I don't truly expect to have any chance of getting a X2010 free without the use of a wheel. Im sure it can be done but I just don't have the dexterity for that... It's a crazy amazing car, and I am sure I will eventually dish out the 20 mil for it, but for now I think I'll stick with my FGT as my workhorse.

Monza is still reasonably well-suited to a controller as even with a G27, I was only using half throttle in the last corner when i finally managed to get gold. Trick there is to make sure the car is pointing in exactly the right direction as soon as possible and fire it out of the corner at full throttle. (and yes, that includes the chicanes) You can brake much, much later than the driving line indicates if you leave ABS on 1 and cut across the curbs.

On the Nurburgring, you don't have the same luxury, but fortunately, the only hairpin isn't that tight. Half throttle helps on the first corner, the hairpin and possibly the last corner, but running it with a controller they can be done allmost as fast with smooth braking too. At least bronze should be doable.

On Suzuka....err, yeah, it's allready stupid hard with a wheel and allmost the entire first section requires very delicate control of the throttle. The hairpin is also really tight. Think your best bet is to remap the trottle to R2, so you've got at least some fine control. With enough practise gold is doable on the other 2, but Suzuka has me baffled on how to improve on the allready tight bronze time limit.

haha now this sounds like a challenge!! I have a driving force pro somewhere god knows where it is now (no playstation for a LONG time) and that was awesome on GT4! now wish I had it for GT5 :-(

DS3 for me for this challenge when I unlock it...which is level 30 right?

Yup level 30.

I officially give up. I'm gonna op to grind Bob to lvl 30 now. I Turn into the Hulk when I can't even get Bronze. Hulk Smash:crazy: leaves me with a parts controller........again.:grumpy:

Perhaps I'll pony up the dough for DFGT, sigh.

This is the only challenge which I was struggling to acheive bronze.

Will buy a wheel before even attempting to gold it:grumpy:
