X1 PP confusion!

Do you like the Performance Points system in GT5?

recently, i traded for an X1 that already had a few miles on it. I decided it would be a good idea to use that as my enduro slave in b-spec to ensure i win races. I change the oil every once in a while and right now the car is at 12,800 miles. Through all this b-specing, i got another X1 for getting to level 35. My new X1 has 1437HP and my old one has 1404HP. My concern is, why is my old one PP 982 and the new one PP 980?? It seems like an X1 with lots of miles and two 9 hour Tsukuba races without an oil change would make the PP drop a lot.

I know 2 PP is not much but still, shouldn't a brand new car have more PP? anyone have any idea as to why this is?
 
Have you added or changed anything with your old X1. If so then thats probably why it is over.
 
I havent done anything to the old X1 and check the tires and downforce and they are the same.

No, because you have run the old engine in. Which will give you more horses.
 
The poll is slightly flawed because it could be taken to imply that PP measures a car's mecahnical performance ability when in fact PP measures mechanical performance ability PLUS the advantage provided by the car's suspension/DF/transmission/tyre settings.

In my own opinion PP is good for throwing a quick lobby together but not much cop when it comes to spec racing.

BTW: to answer your question, I think its the tires, make sure both X1s have the same tires

I noticed the same thing.

I've got a number of X2010's: an old endurance workhorse that's waiting for an engine rebuild, with around 1520bhp; I've got a couple I purchased from the dealer in nicer (than the RB livery) colors, which are fully run in at 1556bhp; and one that I won recently from the Vettel challenge at 1437bhp (or whatever the stock is).

And the thing is, the higher the BHP, the lower the PP.

Not near my PS3 atm, so can't give you the exact BHP-PP figures, but definitely noticed the same anomaly.
