sumbrownkidThe key to this car is smoothness, and the DS3 just cannot give the smooth input the X2010 requires compared to a wheel.
If you really are about to give up there is a way to get gold on Suzuka.
It's not quite the honest way but hey, they put the hole there on purpose in the latest patch (1.10) as you couldn't do this with patch 1.09.
Do use the search engine above next time as this is like the 10th or so thread of the Vettel challenge
@Max Cavalera Suzuka glitch also resets you to the track if you dont use the path in the video too. So if you really know the glitch in nürburgring share with us the video than we can find a path without reset.
Max CavaleraI found 2 glitchs on Nurburgring Vettel Event to, i can enter on the glitch but im always reset for the track.
OK, I'm calling out all the people on this forum who say that they have managed gold on the Sebastian Vettel challenge with a controller. I have golded every licence, race and special event in GT5 with a DS3, but this seems - frankly - impossible.
I popped out a 2.11:527 on the Nurburgring today - two, near-perfect laps with a DS3 at 1.05:7xx apiece. The examples I've seen of this challenge being completed on Youtube all seem to be done with wheels - none of the jerky turning that characterises D-pad use. The car in these examples also seems to be simultaneously braking and accelerating in corners, something that is near impossible with a DS3.
So: if it's actually possible to complete this with a controller, help please...feel like I'm so close, squeezing every available tenth out of every corner, but 3.5 seconds away from gold is an eternity in racing...
Can this be done if you've never updated?
It's like this:
1 in 1.000.000 people can do it with a DS3.
1 in 10.000 people can do it with a wheel.
So yes it's possible with both DS3 and wheel, the question is: do you think you're that 1 person out of the 1 million?
I;m a good driver, golded everything with rather ease using DS3. Golded all drivers licenses in a day for example. But the Vettel challenge?
For that challenge I actually went to buy a desk so I could put my steeringwheel onto it to use with my PS3 and computer monitor. And even then it too me 3 loooooong frustrating days to get it.
Vettel challenge has got to be in my top 3 most idiotic things I ever did with computergames, and I once played a 72 hour CounterStrike LAN from which I got a pneumonia afterwards..
Seriously: Vettel is rediculous and imho has no place in a simulator like GT5.
It;s not fun, the reward is a rediculous arcade car thats no fun, this whole challenge should be removed if it were up to me.
Chase camera, SRF on, ABS 1, brake balance 10/10, manual transmission, everything else off (I use sixaxis).
Gold-worthy sector times should be:
Left: optimal
Right: marginal
#1: 0:19.6xx/0:19.8xx
#2: 0.33.8xx/0.34.0xx
#3: 0:48.6xx/0.48.8xx
Lap 1: <1:04.1xx
Lap 2 should be about 0.2 faster if you push it.
That's for Nurburgring. Suzuka laps should be Lap 1 <1:05.3xx/Lap 2 <1:04.5xx and Monza should be 1:03.xxx/0:59.xxx.
Suzuka was not hard (2 hours for gold), Monza was very easy (30 minutes for gold) but Nurburgring was very hard (took me 6 days for gold).
What's funny is that I started on 2:10.1xx (my first time ever), it has taken me 6 days/3000km to shave off 2.1 seconds.
Good luck.

I got all bronzes with a DS3![]()
Sixaxis? You can tilt the controller to turn?
Like some others, I'd also golded all the X1 challenges using the DS3.
With the controller sensitivity setting option, it's easier now (still, I wouldn't say it's become a piece of cake though).
GTRunner I'd also bronzed the challenges prior to patch 1.06. But I guess I should be prouder for golding them now.
I used these Driving Options:
Driving Line: On
Traction Control: Off
Skid Recovery Force: On
Active Steering: Off
Active Stability Management (ASM): Off
ABS: 1
Controller Steering Sensitivity: 7
- Use the sector/lap times as guidelines, but don't obsess over them as it may add more pressure to you. I've seen ppl on youtube gold the challenges even with higher lap times.
- In 3rd-person view, everything may seem somewhat slower. But still, use whichever camera view you're comfortable with.
- Experiment with ABS 1 and ABS 10. When I switched from ABS 1 to ABS 10 in Nurburgring, I found new 'ways' of braking/accelerating (it's like having an epiphany). I then switched back to ABS 1 and improved my times.
- Don't need to tinker with brake balance, I know I didn't.
- After the 1st lap, if you feel you're within range of getting gold - turn off the ghost car (press Up on the D-pad) so that you don't get distracted when you're near him.
- In fact you may want to turn off all Race Info Display altogether (pause during race and goto Quick Options). I didn't turn off because I feel more comfortable with the info and knowing how far ahead the ghost car is.
- Don't glitch/cheat. Why play at all if you're gonna cheat~
I've uploaded my gold runs here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=217166
The jerky turnings will show that they're done with a DS3.
I like doing/discussing about these challenges. In the future, I may want to go back and redo them all.![]()
Thanks again.
