X1 Special Event seems impossible

I have been playing GT5 since release and really enjoyed it so far.
I have now unlocked the X1 Special Event but it seems impossible to me (I know it isn't but it just seems like it).
I have completed every other race event with gold trophies including the FGT series but I cannot even get close to the bronze times in the X1.

Before you ask, I am using a DFGT with a wheel stand and I really don't seem to struggle with any of the other cars.

What the hell am I doing wrong?
 
It's brutally hard, so don't worry just practice more and eventually you'll get it. So far I was only able to get bronze in the second race since that track is a bit easier (also had skid recovery active). Suzuka or such, no chance so far. Mostly can't even get 2 laps done without being disqualified.
 
You have to learn the car. It's as simple as that. You have to learn how late you can brake, how fast you can take corners. Once you learn that bronze isnt hard at all. The hard part is staying on the track long enough to learn.

Once I got bronze and spent some time practicing with the car I won, I realised the bronze times weren't so bad after all.
 
if i could do it with a DS3 (1 day long), you certainly can with a DFGT ;)

Just practice :)

I know I need to practice but it just doesn't seem fun with this car, it's just too fast!!
