Love everything about the X1! The sound, the speed, the handling! I want a fleet of them in multi-colors!
Would rather have a wider variety of cars, even if this includes fictional cars, than more Skylines, Evos, Subarus etc
I'm almost sure that the X1 is wider. It's also got a vacuum under it.
Biggest difference between X1 and F1 is that the X1 has a closed cockpit and wheels to spare it from the F1's terrible drag. Other than that and the vacuum, they're pretty similar.
Because they can.
Jose'At the sacrifice of Premium cars.
Why did you quote me?
In the first place, why was the X2010 added??
Because they can.
At the sacrifice of Premium cars.
It is a premium car, so it's probably only worth one other premium car. I don't find the premiums valuable though.
They spent many more time creating it, they even colaborated with Red Bull...
zedextreme8177I find the X2010 a bit more enjoyable than the FGT, all I wish was there was another car to compete with it![]()
Here ya go. A one-spec race of the X1 at La Sarthe! Gentlemen this is racing!!!

Alright, someone tell me how to embed a youtube video please! Thanks!
umm...every car in the game has "simulated downforce." The game is a simulator...The thing is that the X2010 has simulated downforce.. basically:
(Wiki: ) The Red Bull X2010 '10 (originally named Red Bull X1) is a fictional Prototype car featured in Gran Turismo 5. The prototype vehicle was made to answer Kazunori Yamauchi's question if: "If you built the fastest racing car on land, one that throws aside all rules and regulations, what would that car look like, how would it perform, and how would it feel to drive?".
the answer is really effing fast and twitchy lol.. it would be really expensive to keep having to replace your driver and car too irl. instant death:skip to 1:40ish with you or me driving it sure...but that is why we are not professional...
umm...you are really missing the point huh?...I'm kind of pissed off that it's in the game really...... because one doesn't exist that can actually produce enough downforce to keep it on the track. I also think there should be an option to simulate / provide a model of how the car actually behaves as it exists today. That would be more challenging and rewarding to drive..
this car was designed by the head of Red Bull's F1 team...the game simulates its performance based on its design, just like it does with every other car in the game...in theory the car would perform just like it does in the game (assuming GT5's physics model is as accurate as they tell us it is)...
your fictional low downforce model of how it "actually behaves as it exists today" doesn't exist because you're trying to make it up...the car doesn't even exist today in a workable form...its a computer model based on what Red Bull's F1 team was able to come up with...
I think they know more about the performance of cars than you or I do...
ugh okay basically get your x2010 and try to drive it with really low downforce settings and that's how it would be irl.. that's all I'm saying.
and what do you have to base that on? nothing. I promise you don't know as much about car design as the head of Red Bull Racing...he also designed cars for Williams F1 and McLaren F1 as well...
The X2010 is an awful design. Wasted resources. The FGT, is a regular F1-type car.
And better for it.
you're telling me you could design a car better than the ONLY guy to design a car to win Championships with three different F1 teams??...really??...
this car wasn't designed to win a beauty contest...it was designed to be the fastest race car in the world...
I like the design of the FGT better than the X2010 as well. Something about the sleek, arrow straight design of the X2010 makes it seem like it would be more of a straight line top speed car than a circuit racer. The wider-appearing design of the FGT looks more versatile, hinting at a seemingly better-cornering car.
What?...this car was designed by Adrian Newey people!...just because you think it "looks" like its built for straight line performance means nothing..
FishHuntersThanks for the assist Charlie! On Adrian Newey, if you look at the mans resume it is very, very, VERY, impressive!!! Whereever he's gone and designed cars hes' brought championships! Not just wins but Championships. To each his own, but for me the car is a dream! Certainly very glad it's in the game!
G-Forces, yes, the car is "borderline" undrivable by a human at top performance. But I'd still pay to see it run in real-life!
The poll doesn't offer the option I'd select, which is thumbs-up to the X2010 and down to the FGT. The X is meant as a fantasy car, no pretenses there, and handles decently. The FGT, though, is a stand-in for regular F1 cars and fails miserably because of its poor downforce. Even tuned it's damn near undriveable in comparison to the F2007.
