Nothing in the presentation on MTV wasn't anything we couldn't gather from the internet rumors that had already been going on.

The only new thing was they actually showed us what it looks like. It's the exact same as the pictures that had been leaked.

I'm a huge fan of Xbox and am very excited about it but I was dissapointed by the MTV presentation of it. It was nothing special. NOthing special at all. :-/

It said that the Xbox market place will offer downloads for games on the Xbox 360 like HALO 2 and Perfect Dark .

That is not backward compatibility. Perfect Dark was a N64 game and Halo 2.5 will be (supposedly) on the HDD.

Funny how the timeline of videogames at the beginning of the show totally erased 1995 through 2001. The world, according to Microsoft, we went from Super Mario Brothers to current generation Xbox.

I liked how that LOTR guy said "uber gamers". What a poser.

The prototype Xbox 360s were the best. Most looked identical to this current one... a white PC case.

That's where I stopped watching. The History Channel had a very interesting show about the war of 1812. Where General Jackson and the Americans decimated the British Army at New Orleans. Much more interesting than pimping out Xboxes.

I agree with you 100%. That was the worst thing I've ever seen on television. I know you guys know me! I've seen a lot of television, and a lot of crap! But this show takes the prize for wost show ever. I never thought Al Capone's Vault would ever be surpassed, but it has.

I knew things were bad when that hump Elisha Wood first appeared as the host. I thought it was funny that they only showed the new Xbox for about 7 seconds. I can't believe I watched the whole thing. I want my thirty minutes back.

After all that, the games didn't look all that great. No wonder they didn't show much of them. I can only say, I wont be buying a 360 unitl they go on sale for real cheap, and never if my kids don't want one.

All companies do it, I've seen a Playstation timeline before and it was just as biased.

No, this is far beyond just eradicating Playstation from history. It jumped from Super Mario Brothers to Xbox, literally. That includes SNES, Genesis, 3DO, N64, Saturn, Dreamcast, GB, PSP, Gamecube. Let's not forget about PC games and the rebirth of the arcade.

W T HOLY F was that ? This MTV Xbox party was by far the worst I've ever seen, as stated above.... I mean I thought, hey I give it a chance although I heard bad things about the show but .... after having watched about 22 / 30 minutes I just had to turn off the TV... I had about three comercial breaks and 4 songs I didn't want to hear...
5 idiotic comments of the MS staff ( " hey yeah ultimate gaming experience blah blah blah etc") and maybe 45 sec of gameplay footage, which honestly looked like something between PS2 and Xbox... I really hope they deliver something on E3....

I fell asleep during the recored live music. I missed the whole unvieling but i saw the Perfect dark game and was unsure if it was XB or X360.

I posted this in another thread but I think it is more appropriate in this one.

So far I am also disappointed with the graphics of the new x-box. I viewed over 7 or 8 different videos on Gametrailers.com and none of them look much better than the original x-box. I am very open minded but the videos I have seen re either crappy videos being posted or the next x-box isnt going to be what we are hoping for when it comes to graphics.
Some of the videos I viewed were at driving game and a Manhunt looking game. (looks like they have been taken off gametrailers.com now )

I have been looking forward to this show hoping it would solve a question I have for myself....do I get a Xbox+Forza now or do I wait for Xbox360 and the next Forza? I only played Xbox about 10 minutes total in stores and I don't have one at home.
This show has not cleared up my question. This show was a total letdown...

Yeah I mean Xbox 360 has about 9-10 Ghz and 5 times more powerful than Xbox in any field.... I mean ok the games are in an early alpha stadium and this high def thing seems to need a lot of resources, but... well we will see if better examples will be shown, but so far there was no game, that couldn't be a great looking Xbox game, at least concrning the movies... there are a lot of screenshots that look great... I'm really interested what Sony can do... Some people say that PS3 will include at least 4 Cell chips and that it will outpower the Xbox 360 by 5 times or more, for example 1 TerraFlop vs many TerraFlops ( dunno 10 or even more ??)... sounds a bit optimistic, but who knows... E3 we are waiting for you....

I don't know if it would help but Xbox, I think, is like $150 right now. 360, I'm guessing would cost $299 or more. Looking at it from the cost perspective, one machine is really cheap, the other one is really expensive.

The Cell chip is a single chip with mutiple cores. not 4 chips, one chip with 4 spe's (Synergistic Processing Elements). Its one scaleble chip. On paper its more powerful than X360's 3 chips

Oh,god.That was the worst presentation ever.They showed the X-Box 360 for about 20 sec. and the rest was just some crappy bands.I was shocked.Here i was waiting a month for this presentation and the only thing i see is this lady comming out with a bag,puts the console on a table and that's it.
MS blew it. 👎

On another note,i don't belive that the X-Box 360 can do a trillion floating point operations per second(1 teraflop).I have seen the official hardware specs and they are not sufficient to achive those results,not even close.I'll be impressed if the X-box 360 can do half of that amount(500 gigaflops).
