XBOX LIVE or xbox.com having major issues again

I have been an xboxlive gold member since before Halo 2. Thats about 7 or 8+ years and the reason you did not run into his problem was because it never happened as bad as he made it sound. .

It was that bad. It was almost unusable for 2 weeks. They gave us free months of gold because of it. The only reason I brought it up is because you said that live would never go down for 6 months like the PSN. PSN was only down for 3-4 weeks. I was just pointing out that live has also had problems in the past where that service has also been unusable for a few weeks at a time. It's not just PSN that has temporary melt downs.

I'll let it go now. I just didn't understand why you were acting like xbox live is full proof and then say the PSN was down for 6+ months, which it wasn't even down for a full month. I personally think they both are pretty bad. I would much rather get my friends switched over to PC games where you have much better options for online gaming services for most games. Both xbox live and the PSN are full of a bunch of bloatware as far as I'm concerned. I wish they would offer bare bone gamer additions that left out all of the TV, music and movie stuff flying all over my screen.

I just recently got a 360 for Forza 4, and today got a 320GB hard drive upgrade (I had a 4GB, kinda for free) so am downloading the free cars, but surprised at how long the downloads are taking. Most are 100MB but taking about 10 mins each. Is this normal? I think i'll avoid downloading full games, PSN can be tardy but not that bad.

It downloads the whole pack not just the car. AI will use it in career and you can now see people who use it online.

Like I said I have been a gold member for many years. It was not "unusable for 2 weeks". But it was unstable.
They never gave any free months of gold. Our prize was an arcade game called Undertow thats it.
Yes moving on. So far live still seems to be working fine. Xbox.com is still slow. But that site has sucked for a long time anyway.
EDIT: Even more specific, the xbox.com forums are having issues. Quite a few runtime errors lately.
