Again.... They are only useable in the base level races (no fuel/tire wear) that are extremely easy in just about any car (which brings up the other issue in that there are not enough events full stop). Furthermore, you pointed out just how poorly they are implemented by showcasing how their PP levels make them walk over the competition, in the events where they are applicable (i.e NOT well implemented into the single player experience, not unlike some of the engine swapped vehicles). My ENTIRE point is they are not well implemented into the game. Everything about how they are used in GT7 appears to be a hastily thrown together afterthought.
The Volkswagen ID.R is certainly a rough one, especially in fuel consumption events, but otherwise I don't have any particular gripes with the remainder.

It's not like it's just the EV-ness that's an issue either; cars like the top Tomahawks don't fit well, and we're still waiting for events for the F1500T-A and F3500-A, among many, many others. Where does the Escudo Pikes Peak fit?

I couldn't agree more. The core problem seems to be with a lack of direction/cohesion with the included events. Whether it's EV's, VGT's, Engine swapped vehicles, Pikes Peak vehicles, Formula cars, etc... PD has a habit of adding vehicles just for the sake of them being in the game. I mean, it is a car collecting game more than anything else, but we still need events for them. There is a strange disconnect between the vehicles we have in the game and the events we have for them. Why is it we only have two pickup trucks, yet they have their own series? Whereas, we have a bunch of EV's with no series. The balance is out of whack...lol

(no fuel/tire wear)
The aforementioned 1h Deep Forest race has both enabled - and the Taycan does well there.
I dont know if it does win, but it certianly has some players wonder about this cars performance (and you can use it to win in that event).

That is certainly an outlier. Also, having done the race... How the hell is the Taycan getting it's battery filled up? It gets filled up almost faster than the ICE vehicle. So, if this can be done, why is it not done across the board? Another example of how strange the implementation of certain vehicles is.

Where does the Escudo Pikes Peak fit?
I still remember some having sour grapes that, because the Escudo and Watkins Glen came in the same update, the track added with that update should have been Pikes Peak instead of the Glen.

I guess the Pikes Peak fits here. I'm already wearing my coat. :sly:

Could we recreate this ingame??? Any takers??? Should we call Misha or SUPERGT??? :sly:

Pretty impressive regardless....

By the way, EV cars, no more news about the Nissan Hyper Force?? At this point there will be more than 20 Hybrid cars. Is it likely that Hyperforce can compete with Xiomi?? Nothing more has been heard.

There was never any "news" (as relates to Gran Turismo) to begin with. It's just a concept car from Nissan. PD was contracted to work on the GUI, which doesn't confer any particular meaning - nor does Nissan's choice to stuff a 3D model of it into Special Stage Route X.

However... on the topic of 3D models at race tracks and - more importantly for this thread - Xiaomi, the guy who designed the car he called the "Vision GT" for the Xiaomi/China Academy of Art project, contest, and display, did produce a video showing the car going around Silverstone...

... along with a race version, which has a distinctly rear-wingish look that could be mistaken for the under-the-covers profile on the screen behind the speakers.

All this makes it clear and hopefully the Xiomi VGT will be two different models as Genesis recently did. A Base Version + Racing Version with Rear Wings.
Let's wait and see.

This is why I was begging for Sophy to be available for custom events. Thankfully now it is, so we can create our own events that can use most of the cars in game on some available tracks (hopefully more soon).

Agreed. I am having a blast with Sophy Custom Races, yet.... There is still a few issues. Sophy can only utilize certain vehicles, and certain tracks. Not only that, but the only way to use an EV in Custom Races (of any kind, not just SOPHY) is a One-Make race. It's not just the EV's either. Quite a few of the specialty vehicles (like the Hi-Medic) can only be used in One-Make races. I haven't tried any of the safety cars, but I suspect it's the same story there.

Any time there is an update, nowadays, I am mostly hoping for new Sophy tracks, and cars. The rest of the update is just a fun bonus.

I wish PD would expand the single player experience with a host of events/features (Spec III!?), but I'm not holding my breath at this point. We REALLY need more events than anything else. Why are the only 650pp races Porsche specific? Why aren't there more 550/650/750 races? Why are the only 550pp races SUPER specific (European RWD, Japanese Clubman, etc...), but there are only a couple? Where are all the 500/600/700/etc... FWD/RWD/AWD specific race series? Why don't we have one series for each? Where are the endurance races? Where are grid starts.... and on and on and on...

Maybe because they want people to stay on the Online part of the game rather than on the offline.

BTW, do you feel like Sophy slows down after you pass her? Like I always get the feeling that she is much more competitive when she's in front. But, once you pass it, it becomes slow and it's easy to break away reducing the competitiveness by a lot...??

Less than 13% of the player base has ever turned a wheel in the online modes. So, the overwhelming majority of players are single players (Career Mode). So, catering to the minority is leaving a BIG part of the community out of the equation.

As for SOPHY, the best thing to do is set the boost to "weak". That will take care of that issue almost entirely. SOPHY is much more competitive this way. It's odd that boost "off" seemingly has a nullifying effect, (slows them down) but here we are...lol

could this start a larger tech collaboration between Sony and Xiaomi? Sony doesn't make their processors anymore, but Xiaomi is starting to develop their own processors, initially for mobile applications

Idk, both of them. Wow, what an impressive run there at the Nords track.

What a number. 3rd* fastest lap ever set on the Nurburgring.

*Not including Stefan Bellof's 6:11 in a Porsche 956

Damn, that's very fast for a lap at the Nords. No way I could top that. Not even if someone bribed me with 1 billion dollars.

No, I believe it's actually featured in the game. It has to be. Weird in a way though.

According to this video, the SU7 Ultra is going to be release in 3 months.

GT7 is mentioned at the 4:49 mark though I wouldn't mind being corrected on the translation.

Edit: Found the 3 months thing via a comment from the uploader.
