I'm sure that many of you either own, or have previously owned GT2. I'm sure that a fair ammount of you bought the XJ220 Road Car, then R-Modded it. I did.

I found the car to be excellent in every way, and used it as much as I possibly could. THEN.. it came to GT3...

The XJ220- Racr Car, is underpowered in my opinion. The real hate or annoyance i have with it, is that it understeer's a hell of a lot compared to the other one, and the fact that the gearing ( 5 Speed ), just Can't seem to cut it with the rest of the cars in its class, the R390 LM/GT-One Race Car etc... (all 6 speeds).

Im really dissapointed in it. Has anyone alse found it to be sluggish or just not what you expected ???

Erm ... I love my jag :D

And somehow your gearing argument doesn't really cut it ... Take the Mazda 787b for example, that car shows that it is definitly not a handycap to have 5 gears.

I do not have a problem with the jag and I value it highly in my garage. Driving styles and tastes do differ so this is pretty personal.

Take care and greetz,

Apclps

tm2003, you Can't Buy the Jag Race Car... To the others, i didnt say that the 5 Speed is a handicap, I just dont like it. As you said, its kinda personal. Plus, my jag is very finely tuned, I just think it lags a bit.

I agree to some extent...

The xj220 isn't exactly the car it should be.

But what really got me upset was the loss of my fav. jag, the other one... the xjr15 I think it was called.

V12 and only 470 hp, which was an understatment.

That car was awesome.

lol Top Gear reviewed the XJR15 and the guy said it sucked cuz the engine was too high up so it had crap for turning. He even spun out in it. (and that rarely happens cuz he's like an expert, esp at driftin) Then, 2nd part of vid, he tested the Mclaren F1.....omg that was soo damn nice...

Mclaren F1 has a 625 HP, 6 Litre, BMW V12......
It even has gold parts cuz it's the best heat reflector.
You can even plug a modem into the car and peepz at HQ will tell u wuts wrong wit da car!!
damn crazie MR cars......
it beat a Skyline GT-R R33 (4WD and traction control)
Mclaren only RWD and has no traction control.
damn...

A lighter car with a 626hp v12 beat a 300 some car that weighs quite a bit more? I dont exactly know what type of racig you are talking about, but I would epect such results for ANY competition of the two cars. Traction control only allows you to use the full potential of the cars engine and grip, it certainly wont make a 300hp car into a 600hp car. Also, I believe MR is a better setup than 4WD. (Afterall, an F1 uses MR. I dont think there is anything faster on a road course than an F1 car.) More weight over the rear equates to better grip under acceleration, and Im not sure that the mclaren is that much in need of more grip under acceleration to begin with. This is almost the only advantage that a 4wd platform would have over an MR car. But still with even the worst driver in the world the mclaren would waste the gtr in a straight line.

Exactly.

As for the XJ220, people are correct in noting its understeer and mediocre brakes, but it can be helped. Also, fully tuned, the car is one of the quickest in the game. I posted some settings for it in the Tunings & Settings forum a while ago (may have to use the search function). See if that can help you out.

they weren't quite racing them. The guy who drives the Lister Storm Race Car makes videos reviewing cars like ferrari's, Porches, BMW, Toyota, Bugatti, etc...
It's really cool lol. Sometimes he's in the mood of driftin and gets crazie like with the M5....especially in an open WET airfield....

yea top gear is awesome. message me if you want to know a place to get top gear and bestmotoring/hot version rips. we also have a few option and drift tengoku videos.

yeah, buddy. i totally feel ya. i love that car, and i also found that the gearing is way too wide, but you can fix the way it handles. Either goto gtvault.com, or, if you have any f-1's, just use their suspension settings on it. That's what i did, and now it handles like a champ! LONG LIVE THE XJ220!!!!!!!!!!!:trouble:

It has quite a low centre of gravity as well...I don't mind driving it around the track for a while, it's a fun car!

Just checking the XJ220's brakes in mk's editor, and it has the joint-second most powerful brakes stock of any car...

Both XJ220s are superb in the game. In an online power-to-weight ratio series (all cars must be within the band 2.700 - 3.100 weight/power ratio in the game) the XJ220 was banned for being too quick...

XJR15 was an awful, awful car. Really bad looks and almost completely undriveable. The single-make series was a riot. Literally.

I remember that car! It was in 1 or 2 or both. That car was SWEET!

Wow, banned from a competition for being too fast!!! Now that's a good power-weight ratio...:D

Ting..When top gear reviewed it..They said it was the WORST handling race car ever made, and it was the most horribly sounding along with it being obnoxiously loud....Tiff was scared in it cause it handled like such ass..

PS...Ting..He's not an expert at drifting...all he knows how to do is power over...He used to be a pro race car driver...

eah the XJ220 was the worlds fastest car untill the official speed tests from McLaren came out.....Proving BMW's better than jag..

Or that a 627hp 6 litre V12 in a light car makes for a quicker vehicle than a 400hp 3.5 litre V6 in a heavy one...
