Plus; when u're using sim tyres 2 pull off drifts, u have 2 sacrafice heapz of time, because, unless u can control the car with sim tyres around a hairpin @ around 130-140km/h, then u won't get low times. The drift that i'm talking about is not what some guys r doing(a drift that looks very very good, but goes at around 50km/h and plus on one track it's just totally unneccessary 2 drift every corner as some ppl say they do. Mayb some ppl just can't make out which corners are neccessary 4 drift and which corners aren't.

To answer you question: People like to feel the reaction of the car when it drifts, but in-game, it's cool to pull off a drift with speed as its friend :p Although drifting with simulation tires, some people like to sacrifice time and speed for a drift that would look really good in the replay :)

Note: the spedometer in the game doesn't really tell the right speed when you drift because when I drift a 90º corner (Tokyo R246 Turn #1) it says that I go ~10 MPH but the car seems to go much faster than that. I could be wrong about this. Feel free to comment on this :)

good explanation pals . by the whera are u , since 3 or 4 days i never met u by the way reallly nice ......so how about your drifting pal did u find any type of cars . i found rx7 & s13 silvia but i keep it stock & important with SIM TIRE . by the way i stop battle again time but now i'm focus to drift with all stock cars . just a few tune but not all . if u want more information go to my thread RX7 i has posted 2 cars from my project the first one is RX7 & the second is
S13 SILVIA . by the way WELLLLCOME BACK....:D :D :) :)  :p :p ;) ;) :trouble:  :banghead: :banghead:

what is wrong with you guys, argueing all the time, damn hahahahha, anyways i use super soft drifting, i cant drift sim tires, it be cool but i try it once, damn so hard to handle, maybe i need to go 5 time slower or something, but yeah drifting nice is good for replay and drifting fast is good for replay, i like both all, by the way, hey drifterzzz i would like to battle you on any FR cars or 4WD someday, it be cool to challenge a new person, because it gives me more skills and the same for you too, but oh well, hahaahha see you all laters, dont argue no more please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok night drifter i accept your challenge .
but if u can give me your setting for fr cars it will be nice when we are battle . all my fr cars are with sim tyre & standard cars not all tune just some component compare to you u are using others tire so if u give your setting and i will start battle , with the best time on the track same with the same cars & setting like i did before with thios & i winnnn again him

i win again him with my crazy drifting subaru imprezza lm race cars & fto both cars are 4wd & i used s.soft & normal/medium at behind i forgot about the time but u can check at BATTLE TIMES THIOS thread ..... so wait 4 my drift............:D :D :D :D :D

Do you really think that? I am able to do such drifts in the game on a lot of the corners. Of course, I can't take some turns such as the the hairpin at Apricot at that speed (I get anywhere from 55-75 in my RX7...on a good day I get up to 85, but I have to use the apron to get the speed that high :p ), but I'm able to take them faster than normal. However, I've never tried to drift in real life before. I drive a '98 Corolla (POS car), but soon I will be getting a '93 RX-7 R1 model. I'm afraid to try anything with the corolla since I didn't buy it. I really doubt that if someone is able to drift at high speeds in gran turismo, that they'd automatically will be good at drifting in real life. At least that's just my opinion...maybe it'll change in the future after I get my own car.

hey i wanna know how do u get in the pros cause i think i wanna compete with people. is there like GT3 Tournament anywhere....

are there any in california well peace out if there is let me know than

There are A LOT of ppl on here who've never drifted in real life, and think sim tires are actually realistic. They arn't.

well to whoever thingks they're good, try any car under 600 HP not modified cars, and race me on trial Mountain, my time now is 1:20:XXX if u can do it then its good, and plus free setting and unlimited stuff, just not modified cars ok

Really? can you prove that?

How would a person relate drifting in real life to drifting in gt3? You can’t, there is no way for a video game to give you the same “feeling” as driving a real car, but it can simulate the way the car moves. GT3 physics are not perfect, but with sim tires the correct amount of traction that is available in real life is used. Now, it does not simulate the feeling of real life drifting but it does simulate the way the car moves and reacts, better than any other tire. Did you think they called them “simulation” tires just for the fun of it? You are right though sim tires are not realistic, but they are a hell of a lot more realistic than any other tire.

As for you night drifter, there is a whole forum dedicated to online racing and comparing fastest lap times, join a race and see how you do and stop challenging people here. You and akina are really getting on my nerves with your stupid trial mountain and his stupid Trueno SS. Every one’s been getting on my nerves lately, well not everyone, but I’m a little edgy, so sorry :)

I'm sure you can find a race on trial mountain, you might need to try a different car since there are a lot of rules to follow to make it a fair as possible. I hope you can do that. And when you say “not modified cars” you mean “non race cars”. A non-modified car to most people, I think, would be completely stock with no upgrades at all, meaning normal tires, normal exhaust, normal everything so no extra HP, grip, or settings.

Amen to that.

As it has been said many times on this forum, there are two very different drifting styles. Speed and show (exhibition). With show drifting, it is much easier to drift with sims. Yes, they are slower, but they ARE NOT FOR SPEED. So for all you people who are sim haters, ****ing get over it. We all know they are slower. :banghead:

Ok, lets see....

A "big" hp car (700+ or whatever) with sim tires will break traction well into 4th gear in the game. The car will get loose very easily just while accelerating.

Is that "real"? Phuk no. Not for all the chit you've got on the car that should be "real" (LSD, full suspension, 5 puck clutch, ect...).

I've driven many 700hp Supras, Porsches and 300Z's both in testing, racing SCCA, as well as many "fun" runs where we'd just thrash all the free street tires we could. That's my experience. I've been drifting for years. How can I prove simulation tires arn't realistic? I can't, I don't need to. You just proved it for me by saying they are.

So what are you saying? sim tires don't provide enough traction to simulate real life or that the physics in GT3 arnt realistic? cus i would tend to agree with you more on the last part, the physics are good, better than most games, but not hyper realistic.

So in real life a 700 hp car in 4th gear would not loose traction if you were to pop the clutch in the power band? This is an honest question, I really don't know but I would think it would, at least a little.

Man GUYS WE'LL SHOW You REAL SHOW DRIFTING.....NIGHT DRIFTER LETS GET THESE VIDEOS IN. PERIOD NOTHING FURTHER. NO MORE TALKING SMACK PUT UP OR SHUT UP.

PEACE OUT YO!

Not usaully. At least not like they do in the game.

i know damn, they dont see it, they dont get it, because they dont know, what they can do in GT3 because only profession like me and Akina_86 knows, for you suckers, keep using whatever you want, your too slow i dont care what u guys do, man i didnt mean to make you TRUENOAE86 piss, but i dont think u can drive that fast and good in GT3 anyways you sim boy, plus stop reading from articles and give us what u know by reading them or your prediction, and you write too much, i get bored reading the first paragrah already, man a game cant be as real in real life ok i'll show you real speed drifting show off is when i get my video downloaded to this site ok

Doode, there are two ways to drift: speed and exhibition. Stop on picking on the people who exhibition drift and just speed drift like you always do. And how fast do you drift?

i know, but im not talknig to people who drift for fun, but damn you guys should drift super soft, its fast and i can drift super soft the same way you guys drift sim tires, with super soft, its show and speed, just try it and u will know but its takes skills though, well i can drift vary fast on turns over 80 MPH or higher depends on the turns!!!! but gripping is faster for me like 5% faster

yeah u are right . i use a combination of tire . s.soft front & s.slick/medium at rear but for gtr-34 only other i use sims ...
:D :D

 I wish I could. If I only had a car :) I think it's hard enough to drift @ 75-80 MPH in the real world, so how can super softs simulate the tires in real life?

dude the games, we're talking about the games man i dont have a car too, i driven all kinds of cars and drift all the time IN MY DREAMS but never try to kill myself like that in real life, im not Japanese or rich boy but with super soft in GT3 u can drift very fast, just saying that thats all, i dont hate no one ok

All I said was that you guys were getting on my nerves a little and then I apologized for it right after. Since you didn’t read or understand my post, I said the way the cars move is more or less realistic, but it does not give you the feeling of driving a real car. So it is very difficult to compare real driving to GT3.

I’m hoping to see the vid soon I’m sure it will be very good. But no one here said you can’t drift with super softs, it’s that some people prefer different tires. As for me, no I don’t drive very fast cus I don’t try. There is no reason to drive any faster than I do cus there is no one I can race with. Driving fast is just about practice, and I don't have time to practice anymore, but I do have gold in all but 2 tests in S and that’s fast enough for me. You get bored reading my posts? Try deciphering yours, it’s barely English, but I read them and try to understand what you are saying.
