Hi, not to be presumptuous or anything but I haven't found another "Complete" thread for completing the entirety of GT5, so I started one. And I am certain I am not the first...please chime in!

I'm done with obsessing over completing GT5 and can finally move on. After platinum'ing (is that even a verb?) GT5 5 days ago, I finally golded my final a-spec 24h race at nurburgring (it took me 5 days for this one).

I've golded the following:
- all a-spec
- all b-spec
- all licenses
- all challenges

Plus, I've received all trophies including the ultimate Platinum Man.
http://www.worldleagueracing.com/forum/infostation/PSNShowGT5Trophies.php?GT=limace

(the link doesn't show all trophies as synched, and I'm not sure why, although I have had the platinum since Jan03/11)

Gt5 time has steered me away from my 1st passion: iRacing...I reckon I'll move back to that (please no flames).

Signing off,

Halcapone aka Limace

Nice...merry christmas and à happy new year..

Congratulations:D
Now, it's time to get a life...(don´t want to be rude:nervous:)

You have done what no one else will bother doing.

For that, respect.

wait! That link shows that you did not complete the Gold Standard and the GT Platinum Trophy! get back to work! <sound of whip crackin'>
;)

haha
Congratulations on completing GT5!!
👍

I applaud you for being able to put up with this game long enough to complete it. Congrats. 👍

How did you get platinum without gold at Nurburgring 24h?

Ah yes...the requirement for Platinum is all gold in licences, challenges and races, but only either b-spec or a-spec...I had all-golded b-spec when I finished the vettel challenge hence the platinum...for "complete" I propose both a-spec and b-spec are in order.

Yahoo! is losing market share!

Sorry couldn't resist, props, I will not be following suit but still...props.

Interesting thread but no sense of "completion" at that point. I'll kill this one if warranted, but at the moment OK with you to let it live?

Lol of course and congrats on the acoomplishment btw! Trying it too, but far from it at the moment as I consider it complete, when I also have every single car.
I guess when the OP of the other thread isn't interested in updating the first page with the names, you should do it, would be appreciated, at least from me.

You know, this post just reminded me that "Yahoo" used to be an expletive, not just a proper name for an internet company.

Ouch!! "every single car"...you're killing me!...I'm far from that too...:scared:

I'll stop here:)

Well, I'm missing exactely 17 used cars, and over 120 new ones, but the new ones are no problem, as there is no need to check it's display every five races.

The only thing that will stop me acheiving this is that rotten Vettel challenge.

Congratulations are in order.👍

Well, I've completed most of A-Spec since im LVL 39,and I have all the cars in the game I hope that counts as completing GT.

Congrats! I'm almost there as well. All I still need is lv39-40 A-Spec, B-spec full career bar for one of my drivers and the Nurburgring 24H race after I get lv40 on A-Spec. As for cars, still need 17 standard cars and 1 premium which I'll win with the Nurburgring 24H race.

You know, this post just reminded me that "Yahoo" used to be an expletive, not just a proper name for an internet company.

Even when Yang or Wang and Filo decided to name the company that I was thinking: "Man thats a stupid word," I have never known anyone to actually use that word except as a sarcastic type expletive, which is doubly true now.

Maybe we should all shout BING!!!! or GOOGLE!!!!

when I read the title of the thread, the first thing came in to my mind is the Yahoo website

Me Too! LOL.....:dopey::dopey::dopey::dopey::dopey::dopey:💡

Halcapone,

Congrats. Did you enjoy the game? What do you think of it?

this is why i don't like people who platinum a game and then leave it...whats the point in rushing to play a game? the point of a game is to enjoy it and take it slowly, and have FUN with it...jeese, some gamers these days are pathetic.

LoL :)

Well - I have done it. I've completed everything there is to complete in GT5. I have got the Platinum trophy, have golded everything on A-spec and B-spec, I own almost every car (http://www.mygranturismo.net/3271) - I'm still looking to trade in with someone for that damned 370Z GT Academy and there is no way to get the Chrome Line XJ13 and That fantasy gamestop Nascar for me apart for someone to give me their account details to download it ...

http://us.playstation.com/publictrophy/index.htm?onlinename=TheNordschleife

It was a grueling task, especially getting from lvl35 to lvl40 on A-spec... and very time consuming to get B-spec to lvl 40. My console was on from beginning of december non stop till last week. Apart from one power cut for a couple of hours, it was running GT5 all the time.

And also - the cruelest and stupidest thing in game came after winning 24h Nordschleife. In order to unlock the race, you must get to lvl40. After you reach lvl40 experience points no longer matter. For winning the 24h Nordschleife race you get over 7,5 mio experience points ... I ask myself WHY? It could be simply one (YES, ONE) point and it wouldn't matter...

Now I can relax and focus on my passion - drifting and driving on the Nordschleife.

Well, I haven't been there, so I can't say for sure, but the experience points also get distributed to your drivers, who in all likelihood are NOT yet all at Level 40. So it does serve a purpose. You could also run the race again with 4 Level 0-drivers, if you so wish, and get them up to higher levels really fast.

You didn't understand me or (more likely :guilty:) I wasn't exact.

I was writing about A-spec experience points. After level 40 your A-spec experience points don't matter. And 7.5mio+ I received for winning A-spec 24h Nordschleife were just simply useless ... smoke up my ... chimney :grumpy:.

For example - they could say, that lvl 38 was enough for 24h Nordschleife race. So after a win those points would still matter. As for B-spec I agree ... they are usefull to upgrade drivers (that is the one thing that I am currently doing - getting all my B-spec drivers up to lvl 40. Three are allready there and one at 38 and one at 33 ... :)

"limace has won 59 of a possible 50 trophies."

???

Halcapone,

Congrats. Did you enjoy the game? What do you think of it?

Sure I enjoyed the game, and still do, for what it is. I have always enjoyed licence tests and challenges in Gran Turismo Games, and the caRPG factor: completion becoming a goal in itself. For pure racing though I prefer other games, my favourite being iracing. I've just now tried the GT5 online racing, and haven't yet warmed up to it. My connections were glitchy so it may be a problem on my end; I'll try more.

One thing I didn't like so much in GT5 is driving the x2010: sure it's nice looking and handles like nothing else, it just doesn't feel like anything real. The force feedback was so unbearable for me, with powerful jolts when going fast on straightaways, that I just drove the vettel challenges and a-spec endurances races with the power to my G25 wheel unplugged, i.e. zero feedback.

I'm rambling too much and it's time to stop.

Yes, as that link (in first post) shows the incorrect number of trophies and still does not display trophies 1 and 2.

If you, or anyone else, knows of another tool for diplaying PSN synched tropies, please share. It would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, two things I've retained from this thread:

1) Never ever use expression "yahoo!" in a thread, for obvious misassociation with the company

2) More seriously, "completing" gt5, may also entail (to many) owning every possible car (1000+?). I am nowhere near this, but am starting to feel compelled to take stock of what I currently have, compare to the GT5 car database, and see if I can achieve this lofty goal. For the 1000 car trophy I earned I resorted to buying (and then reselling) about 700 '91 red NSX'es, which happens to be the car you buy when you keep pressing the same button over and over. From memory, I'm currently only at only around 250 cars, albeit really expensive ones.
