Yahoo!!! GT5 COMPLETE Thread

Hi, two things I've retained from this thread:

1) Never ever use expression "yahoo!" in a thread, for obvious misassociation with the company

2) More seriously, "completing" gt5, may also entail (to many) owning every possible car (1000+?). I am nowhere near this, but am starting to feel compelled to take stock of what I currently have, compare to the GT5 car database, and see if I can achieve this lofty goal. For the 1000 car trophy I earned I resorted to buying (and then reselling) about 700 '91 red NSX'es, which happens to be the car you buy when you keep pressing the same button over and over. From memory, I'm currently only at only around 250 cars, albeit really expensive ones.

LOL@700 of the same car.. you actually grinded just to get 1000 cars for a trophy?

That is seriously pathetic. You sir are on a whole new level of hurtbag.

Stand up and take a bow you just made it to the top of the nerd pile! haha

And you are Canadian, soab lol .. do we really have that much time on our hands? Go out and snow mobile or ice fishing or something lol

It's even more pathetic than you think: I stuck a usb keyboard in the ps3, jammed "enter key down", @ 80,000 per nsx, 20 million in bank (from grinding) and 35 seconds per transaction, you can get 250 cars in about 2 hours, requiring no effort whatsoever.

Whatever, it's not a trophy I enjoyed getting, i just wanted it off my "to do" list.

Flame me even more, I deserve no better

something ill never get around to doing, too much fun in tuning, drifting and online shuffle/kart racing

I finished 99% platinum about two days ago. I just don't have it in me at the moment to complete the two A spec enduros. Maybe one day I'll get around to it, but for now I'll just enjoy driving for the fun of driving and the seasonal events. 👍

99%?
Gold is only worth 1%?

The two remaining A-Spec 24 hour endurances are the 1%. I think even if I bronzed them I would have the game completed at 100%.

If it's the gold standard trophy you are asking about, you only need to complete the race in gold for either A or B Spec to get it.

lol to all you "Grinders" to "quickly finish this game", I'd like to Duct Tape you to a 1400HP overtuned Lada, and put a steering wheel lock , and may you enjoy grinding the wall in RL...

Oh, you meant in game.
I thought you meant trophy wise.

Haha, after reading my post again I can see how it was confusing, but i assure you it made complete sense in my head.

Only 'quickly' finishing this game so I can do what I really want to do with this game, just pick a car and have fun driving/racing with others online. Or when not online, just driving them around the Nordschleife to see laptimes. It still takes quite a while to finish anyway. I remember finishing many games within 2 weeks, GT5 already took me 3 months. Best thing about GT games is that the fun actually starts when you complete the game (for me anyway). Especially since they messed up the offline part a bit with the stupid level system, useless licenses and not even close to enough events.

lol to all you "Non-Grinders" to "take years to complete game", I'd like to Duct Tape you to a .05HP undertuned Lada, and put a steering wheel lock , and may you enjoy grinding the next 2-4 years in RL...

You say tomato I say what's your point?

OK, took on the additional quest of "collecting all cars"...now at 629 distinct cars.

Having all dealership cars, it's now just a matter of going to the used car lot, buying what is required, and grinding the spec-a "like the wind" for 5 races and a bit of cash, then repeating.

I have found a new technique for grinding spec-a requiring minimal effort!...similar to using "Bob" in Spec-B, I use "Bobette" for grinding in Spec-A. And what you may ask is a "Bobette" ???? My two little daughters, that's who! Surprisingly, the "Bobettes" seem to have taken a liking to driving in circles! As long as they like it, no one can accuse me of child slavery :sly:

Great job.

I would have completed GT5 by now, if my power company wasn't so bad, and if B-spec wasn't so boring:mad:

Congrats on the Platinum trophy dude. I just got mine today :sly:

It's time to stop: after completing the trophies I thought I'd give a go at collecting all cars...it's been about a week, I have 1034 distinct cars, but am missing the 2 following:

- Nissan Fairlady Z Version ST (Z33 Option Wheel) ‘02
- Pontiac Solstice Coupe Concept ‘02

At least, this is what I think I'm missing based on a car list spreadsheet in another thread. My own collection is attached.

Cycling over and over to scour the used car lot has finally lost its magic. On to a different game.
