Yeah, about that infraction...

... please allow me to show you how you are shooting yourself in the foot.

I posted in the marketplace what cars I have to offer. No one responded, so after it fell off a page or two, I bumped it back up to the beginning and was issued an infraction.

Now, at the time, I didn't realize that was against policy, so no harm, no foul. But if you think about it, it's a bad rule. First, you have literally thousands of people posting on this site every day. Every new post is only going to clog up the forum more, create greater confusion among people trying to find something, take up space on your server and slow things down.

Don't you think it would be common sense to just bump a post up rather than making an entire new one? People who are looking for a certain trader could find them easier, less clogging things up, and the morons who do abuse it as spam could easily be weeded out.

Now if you have a logical reason for this, I would certainly love to hear it.

I'm not a mod, but it could have something to do with you having 7 different threads in the marketplace, so chances are you bumped a thread of yours after you created a newer one.

Have you PMed the mod that issued the infraction? Do that in the future. I think Interludes was quite clear with his message that accompanied the infraction.

Ten-point infraction for making a useless post. The practice of "bumping" is banned on the forums, as it serves little purpose other than to draw attention to a thread. If we allowed this - particularly in the Marketplace - then the forums would degenerate into a race to see who could keep their threads at the top of the queue, and anarchy would rule. This infraction will expire in one month.

Since this one is only temporary, maybe you should stop pissing and moaning, learn from it, and let it expire.
