My mother suffered a terrible fall yesterday morning, she broke her arm, so we were at her house all day yesterday helping with tasks she needed done. While I was there, I chatted with her cool neighbor Jim, who happens to be a drag racing fan. He had relatives working at the NHRA Drag Racing Hall Of Fame in Pomona California, which is very close to where we live. It's located in the Fair Plex, which is where they hold the huge LA County Fair every year, and near the infamous Pomona Drag Strip.

While Jim was at the Fair this past September, he took his boys to the Dragster Hall Of Fame, to visit with people he knew and to let his two boys see the cars. He got to chatting with one of the workers, and she stated there was a crue from a Japanese game company filming, and taking pictures of dragsters for an up and coming video game. She said they went as so far to pull out rulers and took measurements of things, too. They also needed glass cases opened up to photo racing helmets, and racing uniforms. She pointed out a few of the cars they took photos of.

Jim mentioned this to me in our conversation, and it got me thinking that it could have been PD. If not, somebody is making a drag racing game. While at his house, he showed me pictures, and described in some detail, of what cars they were seen photographing. Here are some of them now. Take note, this is NOT a for sure PD thing, and the following cars will NOT be added to any car list. It's ALL just speculation.

Here are a few of the cars now.

Speculation, yes, but considering odd cars like JL:s tank car already is in it sure can be possible it was PD. Oh well, time will tell.

The twinengine dragster looks like fun. :)

It's not a twin, but a quad engine.

isn't it a little late to to add new cars while the game is up for release?

nice topic though 👍
hopefully your mom will recover quick 👍

If this is true, and its another of PD's secrets, you'd have to think that they may be getting a little frustrated with all the detective work this sight gets on what they're up to. I think its cool, all the info we get here. Theres little doubt, this is the definitive GT4 sight anywhere.

No, because this happend sometime in late August, very early September. So, I think PD would have enough time to include several new cars. They said the would add new cars up unitl GT4 gets released. They probably took photos of aboout two dozen cars, or so. They paid close attention to the Model T style hot rod you see in the pics of above. There at least three of them in the Hall Of Fame. I posted two of them, which was all I could find.

it would be pretty cool if these cars are included......and be released on the vegas drag strip............don't forget......in GT2 & 3 there where these HKS dragsters.............so why not include these machines.

Could be a prize car or something.. depending on how many old-school cars they have, there might be a championship for it, using nothing produced later than 1940, say. The prize may be one of these "old" dragsters or race cars.

Sounds pretty neat to me, though. While it's just speculation, I wouldn't mind having one or two of these in my garage. :)

These are probably all buyable in the "Used Car Lot" that we've heard oh so much about.
I don't think you could find any of these cars in a used car lot. They belong in a museum!

They are in a museum! :p

Yeah, since the cars are placed in a museum, it makes sense for PD to put them in their museum.

PD did say they would continue adding cars and tracks until the release date nears even more. With the reduction of online play, then we have a whole lot more space for things. One of those cars would be awesome to take to the Vegas drag strip!!

Wouldn't that be a shocker for someone unfamiliar with the game.. "I'll race my Model-T against your Hemi 'Cuda!" and you whoop him.. lol.

Well, I respect drag in general and these dragsters but I think these cars don't belong in GT4. Heck, what will you do with a 1940 model T hot rod drag car? Apart from racing in Vegas, nothing. And these cars are ugly. I'm really not a fan of cars that hold. I'm okay with 1960s and 70s cars but not 1886 or 1940 cars.

Just my thoughts

See ya :sly:

Me too. I was never really interested in cars from under the 1960s.

Me either but even I have to admit that some of the Auburn Cord's of the late 30's early 40's were designed with nice lines.

I think the emphasis on these cars should be minimal and limited to the one's that were the 'Ferrari' or 'Roll Royce' (even though RR was around) of their day. Only the best of the best.
