You know that lies make baby Jesus cry right?
And that when he cries, he kills puppies to make himself stop crying.
So do you hate baby Jesus, or do you hate puppies?
I think theres support groups for things like this.
I'm going back to drinking my chocolate milk.

However, since Jesus isn't a baby anymore, it really doesn't matter does it?

 It's couple of years old and is outdated. It doesn't have 720p, and has only composite or component inputs. I guess it's still above average though. ;)

I'll take it! It beats my TV. My TV is less than 30 inches, is over 5 years in age, and isn't even high definition!

I guess we make up for it in computers or something.

so i gues i should change this thread name to, "what kind of TV you have?"

LOL, no. I am sorry I (and others) have stolen your thread.

BTW, my TV is like a 28 in. Sony WEGA TV that is like 6 years old. It has ports on the front for my PS2 and a coaxial cable input in the back. That is about it! No high def. or anything fancy. We have one other tv that is like a 22 in. It is like 4 years old. It isn't high def. We also have two TV tuner cards that are by no means high def., but they do seem to work well.

Anyways, good luck on turning over your "new leaf".

The 1GB human memory thing has just gotta be the silliest thing I've heard from Famine. (edit: I'm not assuming he endorses the theory, but is just bringing it to our attention for fun).

Take (just for starters) - all of the incredibly detailed memories of say, inanimate objects in the world that you know exactly what they look/feel/sound like etc and try to fit that in 1GB. You know the 3D form down to incredible detail, colour/textural information...the way light hits it at different times of day... you know how things break and look from all aspects, are contructed etc etc... so much information that you don't even know you know!

Do you know how I can prove we remember WAAAY more information about the world than we think we do? DREAMS. They are so real we think we are there. For instance, I can walk around a perfectly rendered city of Melbourne filled with perfect looking cars/people/conversation (even in other languages I don't think I would even know how to approximate the sound of when I'm awake). This dream world is in all ways "real", until you wake up. As if a game console will do that with 1GB of media.

Sounds/voices/people you recognise in incredible detail... There is no way we can even start to compare the human mind with 1's and 0's. Its just silly to try IMO.

Sure, we can't remember things in a really mathematical way (apart from Famine and certain other people whom are crazy and easily remember the whole phonebook perfectly after glancing at it once (yes there is a fancy name for these folk but guess what - I can't remember it although I know it)). For instance, it takes me quite a while to remember (easily without thinking hard) even one new phone number, but that doesn't mean we don't store a hell of a lot of other information about our world. We just store it in a far more organic way than a computer.

He'll always be a baby in my heart, and in the hearts of children everywhere.

Sorry to go off topic. But that was bugging me what that was called too. Anyway, after some wikipedia searching, I found this.

"Most autistic savants have very extensive mental abilities, called splinter skills. They can memorize facts, numbers, license plates, maps, and extensive lists of sports and weather statistics. Some savants can mentally note and then recall back perfectly a very long series of music, numbers, or speech."

I was thinking he meant photographic memory, but that works too!
