How British of them:

One offender is described as wearing a hooded jacket and one a baseball cap.

A second vehicle used by the men is thought to have been an old-style Mini Cooper, police said.

Can't believe they got away with it.

Not our police stereotypes on this side of the pond, thankyou.

£3m (11feet) by Henry Moore
£200th - £400th scrap
its still a heist as scrap , but there are black market collectors of such an emminent artist

That's the best thing about this. Nice touch! Very classy.

What do you all think of this theory:

Could it be that these guys had no idea what they were stealing? Is it possible that they thought it was just some minor dumb-looking decoration, sitting out in the open, unguarded, and that stealing it (for its scrap metal value) would be hardly noted?

Is it possible that they are now scared to death, huddled together in total panic, realizing that they've gotten themselves into way more trouble than they can possibly handle?

Famine
Since it's only worth £11 million...
Did I miss the 11 somewhere? It says 3 million not only in the headline but several times in the body text.

Never read it - I read the flickering Sky one instead - but I got my size and value mixed up...

It's 11 FEET long and £3 million, not £11 million and 3 metres (though it is also 3 metres).

Still, that's life.

 I didn't just read what I think I did, did I?!

Famine was wrong!!!!!

Oh and that bronze erm.... Turd was stolen. Great..
