I thought about trying this once before but I don't have Gmail. How big is the maximum per letter?

Would you mind sending me an invitation. PM me if you could.

Maxium per letter? Not sure about that but Sorry I dont have any since I invited friends and my cousin. Try the Gmail thread I am sure someone might be able to help you.

I believe most email programs have a cap on how much you can attach, that is what I wanted to know. Thankyou though.

I'm sorry the confusion continues, I understood that the inbox can total 1 gig, but in each email you send what is the maximum you can attach to that one specific email. I hope that clarifies it.

I believe you can get about 10 MB max. for each message. Not entirely sure though... I'll check and edit if it's not right.

Edit: Well, actually, it is correct, but I wanted to post the "official" info here just to let you know:

That depends on the attachment. With Gmail, you can send and receive messages up to 10 megabytes (MB) in size.

When you add an attachment, the size of a file may increase because transport encodings (the information that allows your message to be safely sent and read) are automatically added.

This means that in some cases, attachments that are 6 to 10MB in size may push the total message size above 10MB. When this happens, Gmail displays a warning that your message exceeds the 10MB limit.

I've thought about doing this as well, but you have to keep in mind that it's only 1GB, and it's at the speed of your internet connection. The fact that it's "everywhere" is kind of nice, but you can get that with a USB disk key as well. And it's faster.

Neat, but useless.

You know if you get caught by google using their service like this they will disable your account. I think it somehow breaks their TOS.

Well, yeah. It is an email function after all, not a hard drive. ;)

Thaks but flitzkerby (sp?) sent me one.

Flerbizky.

I get about 17,000 invites, if anyone wants one. Shoot a PM my way with email address attached/included.

Well not really, but I sent 2 away and got 'em back a couple days later, weirdly...

1GB :yuck:

And besides, 128MB is plenty for all practical purposes that you'd be using this GMail hack for. You sure as heckfire can't use it as an mp3 server. It's extreme latency, low storage, and you are relying on someone elses servers. With a USB key it's all in your hands ... literally! And the speed is infinitely faster.

Say the same thing to you I said the to Music man.

Come to my town and find me a 2GB USB key. I challenge you. :grumpy:

What's your point? I stated that you can get 2gig pen drives and you're saying "Come to my town and find me a 2GB USB key. I challenge you. :grumpy:". That makes no sense other than the existance of any portable memory over 256meg is irrelevant as you can't buy it in one of your local shops. I don't have a Pagani dealer next door either, but i don't think Zondas are irrelevant :indiff:

I said something about 128MB USB keys. LoudMusic game along and said something about 1GB USB keys. I was stating that my town only sells 128MB USB keys, and I jokingly challenged him to come find a 1GB USB key in my town. Then you said something about 2GB USB keys and I repeated my joke.

We on the same page now? ;)

Oops sorry. I guess I have to admit its neat but a bit useless. Still cool if you dont have a CD burner or a USB drive thingy or anything like that. But I am sure almost everyone has a CD burner.
