"You cannot drive at this moment." Online message

I joined a random room just now and when I tried to enter the track the cursor stayed in the spinning circle and after a while told me "You cannot drive at this moment." It happened every time I tried to enter, and eventually I gave up and selected Exit. Now it would just hang there, trying to exit. The game wasn't frozen though. But I had to quit game.

Has anybody else gotten this message?

Yes, but normally after a couple more tries i'd be able to enter the racing lobby of said room.

I've gotten that too, especially when driving with my British pals. Sometimes it fixes itself, other times I have to leave and come back.

Have you been drinking a little too much right before playing? Friends don't let friends drive drunk.
