But don't you think that people are getting more mature, i mean, i'm 15, but i'm more mature then my 19 year old sister
That goes person to person. I meet people in college and by their actions think that they must only be 16, but then I meet 14-year-olds who I swear should be starting college.

Sometimes it depends on situations too. For instance, my brother is four years older and he can be completely focuses on school or work activities and comes away looking very mature while I can find a thousand reasons to slack off and do as little as possible as long as it gets done on time. However, drop us into a room full of people we don't know and I will be networking and making connections all over the place. I even got a job offer in an elevator once. My brother looks like a scared 5-year-old hiding behind his mom's leg.

Judging by that people determine which of us they think is older based on what they witness us doing.

Age has nothing to do with maturity but I have seen nothing from younger generations that convince me they are more mature at younger ages.

The one thing that makes me feel just that little bit older suddenly is the fact that I can start learning how to drive this year... :scared:

"Time flies when your having fun."

what really disturbs me is that you guys are talking about how time goes by so quickly and all that stuff and most of you are under 20!... I'll be 30 the day after tomorrow. I was born in the 70s.

I actually did several papers for school on a typewriter! I actually remember being very mad with the damn computer I had with Turbo Pascal OS... an upgrade of the previous Pascal, which was almost the same thing, with the 5 1/2 inch discs. God those were horrible!

My mom drove a new Dodge Dart when I was a kid... it was blue and barely turned, and my dad had a Toyota Land Cruiser, which I always loved.

I guess its the same for everyone though.

I am mature...
I wasn't implying that you were immature, I was just making a generalization. And from some of your posts I wouldn't have guessed you to be as young as you are.

I honestly believe that immature people could not survive in the GTP community. There may be joking and fun but anytime anyone goes too far they are quickly eliminated.

 Well in that case I can tease you like I tease my friend that's a little bit older and call you and old man. :p

dude, you're 27! You were born in the 70s as well... no way I'm an old man next to you :scared:

What's scary to me is that there are a few kids I know who have been born since I started watching Formula 1, in 1996. I know a few people who have children who I will always think of as babys, who are now celebrating their 7th birthdays, and such.

Eep. Before I know it, I'll be 40 or something. A worrying thought for a 19 year old.

What killed me at Christmas two years ago was when my second cousin showed up and was talking about his basketball team. He is a good three inches taller than me now. I clearly remember my mom babysitting him when he wasn't even able to walk yet. Now he is on his school's basketball team?

I do have to say that anyone who doesn't remember watching new episodes of the A-Team or Knight Rider can't complain yet.

Or another is knowing why Emmanuel Lewis is the devil.

Dude, Knight Rider, along with Dukes of Hazzard ruled! (and no, I wasn't older than 6 :p)

I'm the only person in my class to be born in the eighties.

No, you'll always think the latest generation is a bunch of idiots! I remember thinking that our graduating class was a bunch of level-headed, reasonable people. After all, the Class of [insert year] was surely the Age of Reason, and the barbarians that graduated after them, well...they're just kids! What the heck do they know!?! :D
👍 So true

Scary that my co-worker's son is the same age as my sister...that sorta weirds me out...

When you realize for the first time that you’re around people who were born the decade after you.

It's pretty much the exact opposite for me, most people in my school class were born in '89... :)

I just realized the other day that there is a whole class of students at my school who were born in the ’90s. It makes perfect sense – those born in the early ’90s are in their early teens right now – yet it’s just something I’ve never given thought to before, and now it’s a bit weird to think about.

I was looking at someone’s profile today, and when his birthday was something 1991, I thought “wait, isn’t that too young to be using the Internet?”, then I realized that he’s 14, which is when I joined GTP. And it just hit me that a largeish population of GTP must’ve been born in the ’90s…

I'm one of those 90's people.

Have you gotten any of the DVDs and watched them lately?

I had He-Man completely ruined for me when the DVDs came out. I asked my dad why he didn't tell me it sucked and he said, "Well, you seemed to like it."

However, Transformers and Thundercats are still classics.

I keep forgetting we're 6 years into this decade already. I really can't believe it.
Yes, I always felt that folks who are born after 1990(my birthyear) that they were little kids. Now some of those folks are 14 and 15. :indiff:

They aired Knight Rider last year... man, I laughed hard. Same thing for Miami Vice (though it doesn't suck on the same level of magnitude, and it has cool cars. 👍)

The one I'll probably buy on DVD is Cities of Gold... that totally made my saturday mornings, and I'd still like to watch it again. 👍 Heck, I went to see Machu Picchu because ot it, mainly... :p Was also fun to see old episodes of the flintstones aired daily when we were eating lunch, that was fun.

anyone remember the Banana Splits?

You mean Dairy Queens don't do these anymore? :( (unless you're talking of something else)

Go me!

I am the second oldest person in the sophomore class in my school. The only person that is older is a boy that is a month older. He started school late because he is dislecic (no clue how to spell it). I am older than some of the juniors, which scares me!

Diego440
noooo... the TV show called Banana Splits
Cartoon Network used to air it VERY early in the mornings.

Now, it's nowhere to be seen though I here some channels sometimes play it.

And to be honest, I do remember watching some Johnny Quest and not that one that was remade. I mean, the classic.
