Not often I come across a BMW I've never heard of.. but, in the new BMW Classic vault....

It's parked in front of the Z1 Coupe/Z1 Break concept, so this could just be a design study... still, I'm curious to know.

I find CUV's unappealing. Plus, you can make a shooting brake out of a normal car.
^ Same, but only the very few CUVs that tickles my fancy:

- 2nd-gen Forester
- Mazda CX-5 w/ Skyactiv-D
- Honda Element

The CX3 looks pretty nice, too. Also, Element? There's a rare one...

I've been seeing a lot of Subaru Crosstreks around here - why're they so popular?

^ I'm curious too myself! :indiff:

-> I can't find anything thru the interwebs. And Petrolicious themselves were no help at all (poor job if you ask me). Petrolicious should at least captioned each photo like Evo, Autoblog, Road&Track, and Wheels magazines!

BT-> Another epic (Euro) Escort that went under the radar:

They have an interior picture too...

.. it's been suggested that it's "an internal design concept for the BMW Z3 before the 1995 production version"

Here's a McLaren 625c for those who don't know what it is. It's a less powerful touring version only sold in Asia. So it's pretty much just an MP4-25c. A 458 Speciale would give it some serious trouble around a track, not to mention a 488.

I just discovered the Toyota Carina had a GT trim model - featuring a 4AGE Black Top engine and a five speed - then later six speed transmission.

And more of an engine discovery; the Toyota Carina Turbo TI My Road - just another bland Carina with automatic only, but offered with the 3C-TE which produced a whopping 94ps from it's 2.2 litre power plant.

^ I like the CX-3 too, but its back seat is close to useless. It can pass as a 2-door to compete the Mini Paceman.

Also, Element? There's a rare one...
^ I've always like the charm of the Element. Sure it came up short in so many ways, but at the moment it's now a cult classic these days.

I've been seeing a lot of Subaru Crosstreks around here - why're they so popular?
^ It's for people who can't afford a proper Outback, or the OB is too big. It has that good niche, they're very popular in LA as in Salt Lake City! Plus that ground clearance and that greenhouse are a definite plus!

BT -> Imagine a Z3 with a V12:

^ The engine is extracted from the iconic E38 750i (I affectionately call it 'Superior') sedan!

Oppositelock
The engine used in this car is the 5.4 liter M73 V12, also used in the e38 7 series, as well as latter versions of the e31 8 series. This unit provided 322 horsepower, so no advantage over the Z3 M (S54 engine at least) horsepower figures. Combined with the fact BMW’s golden 50-50 weight distribution was annihilated in this nose heavy exercise, with reported numbers closer to 70/30 front to rear, it is hard to see the point of this prototype. Only the V12’s turbine like delivery would have proved interesting, as well as the fact it was still mated to a 6 speed manual transmission.

-> This was before the Z3M came into fruition. On which the Z3M had better weight balance and a better spec sheet numbers.

We're not sure what's so artistic about a Hummer H3 with wooden wagon-style wheels, but apparently someone with a higher aptitude than ourselves has created just such an exhibit. It's parked outside the Royal Academy of Arts in London and was created by an artist named Matthew Harrison.

And this is why art majors deserve to have low employment rates
