Saw that red/yellow Bizarrini racing hard at Le Mans last weekend (in fact that looks like a photo from the event at the first corner). They had two racing. One of the greatest sights I have seen, and the noise, THE NOISE!!!

Indeed a picture (not mine) of that event, did not know the car, so thought of this thread.

I've seen a few of the Bizzarini's racing at Silverstone and they do have quite a nice roar/burble from the Chevy V8.

The Monica GT

Ah...the Monica, a French hybrid ( European car with American engine ) with a Chrysler V8 ( the same formula as the Facel Vega ) which was chosen after difficulties ( and due to funding ) with their own V8 engine design ( by British engineer Chris Lawrence ).
Only a few were build by Jean Tavestin, so yes I've heard about this car before......;)

American engine, French design, British looks. Recipe for failure. An elegant failure, but a failure nonetheless.

:yuck: Looks like an uglier TR7. Sultan of Brunei?

*edit* The 348 Barchetta is no better, looks like a Koenig creation to me.

I'll tell ya when GT5 comes out with some off the wall manufacturers.

GT4 had a bunch like Spyker and Proto Motors and Citeza (or whatever it's called). In fact, all GT games have had new car makers and cars that I've never heard of. GT1 was the Impreza and Skyline and the Dodge Concept car, GT2 was Vector, TVR, RUF, Venturi, MG, Mini and others. GT3 was Pagani. GT4, Spyker, Proto Motors and a bunch of others. So, it stands to reason that GT5 will have more....like Garage Defend and Art Morrison.

I remember the Brooke cars, Evo seemed to like them.

^ I agree, PD always caughts us off-guard with new brand names that were unheard of before. Now we will have Tesla & Art Morrison! I hope more follow up (Gemballa, 9ff & Ariel). And also hoping for the return of Vector & Venturi.

@SuperShouden : MG, Mini and TVR aren't exactly unheard of, they're some of the most well-known manufacturers. (But I know that you mean't that they were new to you.)

On topic: I hadn't heard of Brooke cars before, the Cosworth engine sounds tasty. 👍

Mine is... Toyota 222D rally car!

This is originally to replace the by-then FR Celica, which claimed a disadvantage in Europe WRC stages. Designed as Group B and S rally racer, sadly it never raced due to Group B being disbanded in 1986. :(

That.is.rare.

^That is actually very sexy. Just a bit short in terms of greenhouse height though.

Edit: The Invicta that is.

I'd love to see that along side the RS200 and the Lancia 037 in GT5. That would be some awesome racing.

I would love to be able to drive that car alongside some other forgotten Group B monsters like the Citroën BX 4TC or the Group B car based on the Lada Samara.;)

^ Ah! So that is where the 5EXi came from! I have the latest issue of Top Gear UK magazine, and I was wondering who was the maker of that peculiar track car. Nice! :)👍

BT-> Found this a year and a half ago, just recalled this just now:

FORD-SHELBY GT Prototype
