Your Birthday Gift: Good, Bad or .......?

Just to be up-front about this, I am not talking about the birthday "glitch" or "cheat", but just the regular birthday gift. I just don't have the time or energy to be making a bunch of accounts/what have you to get a few extra cars.

First up, I had never had a PSN account before GT5, not for GT4 or GT5P but did want to take advantage of the GT5 updates and some of the on-line bonuses.

Also, I never give any real info when I sign up for these sorts of things, no real name, location (on some places its listed as Darwin's Waiting Room, which is just about right for my small town :D ), or of course birthday. So when I made my PSN account, I could give a year for a car that I would like; I picked 1966.

I really wanted the XJ-13. Oh the irony.......I got the Honda S800 race car :( :p :lol: Yup, that will win me the Historic Race Car races 👍 Its actually quite fun, and I won the 13 later anyway, so no real loss. But probably serves me right :lol:

So just wondering if you were happy with your birthday gift or was it just sort of weird?

Sorry if this has been discussed before, I did search but all I got was the above mentioned glitch/cheat. Mods feel free to move/combine if you think its best.

i was born in 85 and got a standard mazda rx7....

I like it, but it must be worth about 15,000 cr at most. I thought with the money Kaz has made from GT5 sales already he would have bought me something a bit more valuable! lol

My birthday car was absolute crap. A 1969 Fiat 500 L, with 16 HP. The riding lawn mower I use to cut my grass with has 20 HP.

If I was going to do the glitch or reload stuff, that would have been the time. There are much better cars from that year in the game. Oh well....
 
1984 Storia Rally Car. I guess you need to be an infant to get something good.
 
My first and only birthday gift was the Ferrari 330 P4.

I think it would have made more sense for the birthday gift to be a level card or a "birthday" card, equal to your level, rather than a car from the year you were born. Yeah, it work out great for me but the choices from some birth years are terrible.
 
Yeah, not going to be good for me.

- DOME-ZERO Concept '78 (Already have)
- Fairlady Z 280Z-L 2seater '78 (Already have)
- MIRAGE 1400GLX '78 (Don't want)


Oh well, I can always hope for a update by July for maybe a new 1978 car... ha..

Have to admit that even though the Stratos isn't my cup of tea, i find it hard to complain about free cars. Then again i'm a collector so any car is a good car for me. :)
 
My PSN is registered in my Dad's name so i got the Ford GT '69 for his birthday! I'm thinking about using the b-day glitch on my birthday so i get something too!
 
my birth year is 1991.. good chance i might end up with an NSX.. if thats the case.. im happy.. if its a miata.. well then :banghead: 🤬 :dunce: :p :yuck:
 
I've registered my dads birthday hich is '65 how do I change it?
 
No car for my year, so the game presented me with a car from the nearest year... the '49 VW Beetle. Not a big fan of that car.
 
Seeing as PD decided that I couldn't sell certain cars I'm now stuck with a spare Stratos Rally Car having already won one in the Historic Cup. The Stratos is definitely a car I want in my collection, but I don't need two.
 
My bday was yesterday. So I got a Be-1!! Talk about the worst car ever...
 
My question...

Why cars from the year you were born? A car from when I would be 8 or 10 would mean much more than a car from when I was a few months old.

Rather than discriminate against people not born in a good year ('49 Beetle every year... no thanks!) they ought to give you an any car Ticket on your birthday so that everyone is treated fairly.
 
Wow.....I really got lucky then. My birth date was actually in 1967 (Yep turned 44 this year)

and I got the Ferrari P4 330!

I was born in '81 and I got the toyota celica 2800gt! Hadn't heard of it before but since I didn't have it already and I hadn't seen it before I was happy! :)

Yeah... it sucks I've already won the 2 cars from 1981. Thought I would get something special for my 30th, but now I have nothing to look forward to.
