Believe me, I know I suck, although I did whup everyone locally. Nobody has the time, or care for that matter, to know how to set up a car. Even with the two-player boost set up on full, I can still murder them by anywhere from 11 to 45 seconds (Not to gloat). There's just no competition around here. :nervous:
 
If you need help setting cars or anything like that just ask most people here will help you out, you can't suck too much cos you got a gold in the S licese at Laguna Seca, quite a few people have golds but that doesn't make them really easy, it is a 3 year old game and thats a lot of time for people to get them.

no cheating... took a looooong time on some of the tests... especially a couple of the super tests. The laguna seca test with the viper took me over a month to gold, and i've only achieved the time twice. It was a ridiculous amount of hours, but a real sense of accomplishment at the end as it is the most challenging thing to complete in GT3.

Further to live's point... i at first thought i was a very good GT player, then i found this board and sites like GT3times and came to realize that i'm a decent, or at best, good player. And i agree that finding out times and info here made me work hard at becoming even better (with the thought that one day GT will be fully online). One thing is for certain, that even the process of going for all golds will drastically increase your speed and decrease your laptimes in GT.
 
Hmmm.. interesting. I never found it that difficult to get all golds in the licences. :p

Everytime I've tried it (3 times in the last 4 years) it's taken me about 4 days to do, and I DO go to work for a living. A month to do Laguna Seca? DANG!.. LoL, I know it was frustrating (took me 3-4hrs I think) but when ever I couldn't pass a licence I watched the demo over and over again and payed close attention to braking points and turn in. 💡

I think I'm due to sit a re-test though, I'm so $h!te these days.. lol (stupid mates "formula". Got me on super slicks for months when I never used to use anything slicker than "hard" compounds. Now I got no throttle control) :crazy:
 
Quick way to re-learn throttle control: See post #29. That was the test that turned me to manual-transmission driving--the best (and only) TCS you can use.

Edit: You using the wheel, the X-button, or the joysticks? I found the best control is with the joysticks, but that is just a personal preference.
 
I've been a Dual Shock user since GT2, using both analog sticks of course. Good place to learn throttle control would be the wet tracks with a FR car.. The test with corvette on the circle circuit is pretty fun. Used to love trying to complete it with zero counter and just using throttle steer.. Fun! :D

My claim to fame. Getting my 12 year old son to Gold the first 4 B license tests by giving him verbal instructions as when to brake turn etc whilst he used the controller.

Beating Skylines and other cars with a fully tuned Mini... At first I was at disbelief that the game would send them as a competition for my Mini... (Arcade Hard mode... And a fully tuned Mini does not have a lot of power...) But I've managed to make a huge gap between them early in the game... And won with ease... Well definitely a A.I. lacking brains I guess...

And I've managed to suck at Laguna Seca till today... (Not much of an accomplishment!!) It is one of the most dreaded race tracks for me to race on... I gave it up on the F1 challenge in Sim...
And I'm guilty of beating Arcade mode with a Kart... I just needed those damn courses...
 
My crappy claim to fame would have to be having a very neat garage. :dunce:

I've won (no trade) every race car and managed them into classes; under 700 and 700+hp: JGTC, DTM, GT, GT-P. Great for 2P battle coz there's no need to go fishing in your garage to find a good match-up. Also set them all up so they are a close match, JGTC cars can do at least 1:43's on Super Hards at Grand Valley. They're also in alpha order by manufacturer.

Also bought and won every production/tuned car and put them in manufacture order too. No trading as well. Had to win the cars you can't buy again...

Very tedious act. All for a neat garage.. I want to be able to permanently put the cars in the order I want like it was in GT2!!!..

EDIT: Did I mention I was picky with colors? Sometimes I wasn't sure which color I liked best so I won them all and decided later. I have about 25 S2000's; the Mugen's, the Spoon's, the Type V's and the Ghost's (Honda concept, I think. There are 3: Imola Orange Pearl, Islander Green Metallic, Phoenix Blue.. damn I'm boring :indiff:

I am pleased you all are enjoying it and it gives me extra incentive to go back and add times for those last couple of championships. Thanks for the encouragement.
